Succenturiate lobe placenta, anyone else?

Mine was only noticed last week on a 33 week growth scan.

I have an anterior placenta but baby is breech or transverse, never head down. The sonographer decided to see why it won’t go head down and noticed an extra part of the placenta.

I was told I’d have another scan and consultant appointment in 4 weeks but they’ve booked me on with a consultant next week.

Any experience of this? Obviously a natural delivery is out of the question as it’s on my cervix. Will they leave me to 39 weeks? I get pains low down in my bump I’m guessing where this lobe is.

They picked this up at my 32 week scan too. Also had an anterior placenta! When I went back at 36 weeks both had shifted up a bit but I am booked in for a c section anyway because they don't want to risk the extra blood loss or placenta not detaching fully with a vaginal birth. Otherwise it's caused no issues!

Thank you! I’ve never heard of it before.

Are booked in at 39 weeks for your c section?
