Hi all,

I am currently 8+2 and I'm coming to the end of my pregacare conception tablets. I was advised to carry on taking these until they run out and then move on to vitamins for pregnancy. Can anyone recommend a good brand? I've heard a few make you feel sicky!

Thanks in advance Smile

Pregnacare max ones I took after my pregnacare conception ones finished. I had tried the seven seas ones and found they gave me a sore stomach. I took them just before bed and was totally fine. My baby is 2 months old and I’ve noticed my hair is really thick and hasn’t fell out at all like people say it sometimes does. I felt amazing the whole way through my pregnancy and I actually think I was probably getting better nutrients and vitamins while pregnant than I ever normally do so my body loved it 😂

Thanks a lot. These are the ones I've actually been looking at.

Once I finished my pregnecare pack (at around 17 weeks), I switched onto the folic acid and vit D ones that you can get from boots (little grey tub). My midwife actually suggested it as the pregnecare can be pricey

Here in NZ TTC or pregnant women are recommended to take a minimum of 800mg of folic acid a day, and the only one that has that amount in it is Elevit so I've been taking that. What's the recommended dose in the UK?Honestly I think any of them are fine, and you can always top up with a booster tablet of folic if you need to.

You only need folic acid and vitamin d which you can buy in any pharmacy. If you want a multi vitamin just buy a pregnancy safe one from a supermarket or pharmacy own brand - pregnacare is a waste of money!

Iodine is important as well 😊
