@AmberJade1553 I can’t tell you the average but I’m also pregnant- 25wks! I can tell you I’ve put on what I think is a lot of weight! I was 57kgs at start and week 24 I was 76kgs!! My midwife tells me every appointment I need to be careful.. (im not in the Uk). BUT my DH is a massive guy and baby was 650grams at 24weeks. Xox

You can use this:
www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

Or there are other charts on the internet if you search.
I think some people are more disposed to weight gain in pregnancy which doesn’t help.

I'm at 20+5 and have put on about 3kg so far, although I spent most of the first trimester being sick. Everyone is different though and shows weight differently. We need to gain weight - we need extra fat stores for energy, our uterus needs to grow a lot and develop lots of muscle, we're also developing a placenta...

I'm 18weeks and I've put on 9lbs

ChikiTIKI · 30/09/2021 19:36

With my first I went up from 60kg to 75kg by 30 weeks and stayed the same after that. I think I couldn't eat much (stomach crushed by the baby) so my body probably lost a bit of weight while the baby gained at the end. I was shocked when I went on the scales to be honest but my same clothes fit me (apart from accross belly).

Same sort of thing happened last time too although I didn't weigh myself but my winter coat still fit me at the end etc. I didn't weigh because I didn't want to get upset haha.

I'm 23 weeks with 3rd and might weigh myself at next appointment just out of interest as I am just getting over a vomiting (and the rest...) bug and think I've lost quite a bit.

I'm 26 weeks at the end of this week and so far I've put on 5kg (11lb) I think that's just under the recommended weight gain, but last week I put on 2lb, so if I carry on doing that, I'm sure that I'll overshoot the recommended weight gain pretty soon!

I'm eating pretty healthily, although recently I've developed a liking for chocolate and decaf lattes, so I can't see me gaining too much fat, but even if I do, I'll worry about it after baby is born. I'm just trying to enjoy my pregnancy and not worry too much Smile

Try not to worry. I know it is easier said than done. I have piled on 2.5st since beginning to 34w. Every woman is different and puts on different amounts. I have honestly struggled with my ever changing appearance and body but have found I piled on in 2nd trimester even though I ate relatively normal. It has leveled off in 3rd and I have only put on around 4lbs so far this trimester. I keep telling myself that I will get back to pre pregnancy weight eventually. I have a goal of July but I know some folk will say that is too soon. I personally have to have that goal or else I will go astray and it will never come off!

I’m 27 weeks.

First pregnancy at this point had gained 29.3lb from a starting point of 10st.

This time have gaine 17.5lb but started off 8st4.

It still seems like a lot but I’m on track on the calculators this time. Unfortunately I put on quite a lot the first time! I ate whatever I wanted which I’m not doing this time.

expectinglittlebear · 01/10/2021 10:48

I am nearly 23 weeks and have put on 1 stone exactly so far. Unfortunately for most of the first trimester and a few weeks into the second trimester when the morning sickness and nausea were at its worst, the only things I could stomach were unhealthy.. anything healthy and I either couldn't stomach it, or would be sick after I ate it! I have only put on 2 pound since week 20 though, so it seems to be evening itself out. I was also told at my 20 week scan that baby was about 1 pound, so of the 14 pounds I have gained, at least 1 pound of that is baby, plus all the fluid and placenta as well - I don't know how much that weighs tbh!

I think it is different for everyone, but I think a lot of it comes down to morning sickness and nausea - a LOT of people end up eating junk food throughout the first part of pregnancy, just purely because its the only nutrition they can keep down!

Ya91 · 01/10/2021 10:59

I’m 25+4, I was 8 stone pre pregnancy and I am now 9stone 1. I think everyone is different!

AmberJade1553 · 01/10/2021 15:05

I'm 27 weeks and am 1 pound lighter now than at booking in. As I am overweight to begin with my midwife and consultant are happy with this (so am I, as I need to fit in to my wedding dress in spring) but it varies with everyone so check in with midwife Smile

zeena83 · 04/10/2021 17:28

26 weeks here and have put on 13-14 pounds. Started out 8st 7lb. But am trying not to check too often

myreddressmydaughtersbear · 04/10/2021 19:52

I'm 36 weeks and I've put on exactly 2st, up from 10.5st to 12.5st. I'm only 5"3 so I am flagging as overweight. However, exactly the same thing happened with my previous pregnancy and a month after giving birth all weight gain was gone and I was back to 10.5st again. Hoping the same happens this time.
