Hi all,

Does anyone suffer with Bv Iv had a lot of discharge recently I had swabs taken one swab was thrush so I took a pessary but I always get thrush I’m sick of taking pessary now lol and the other came back with bv grade 2, Iv been on antibiotics now for 3 days this morning after I wiped I had green discharge is this the antibiotics working to flush it out? Also I’m worried as bv can lead to things and could harm baby! Also the antibiotics I’m on metronidazole people are saying I shouldn’t be on them but I guess the doctor wouldn’t of prescribed me them if they was in any danger to an unborn child! Having bv is much worse so I didn’t even think and took them little one has been kicking me so I know she’s ok just wondering if anyone else has been in my shoes xx

I can't find the name of my prescription but after one of my swab tests I was diagnosed with thrush and BV at the same time. I had to use the pessary for thrush first and then I had 5 nights of pessaries for the BV. This was around 30 weeks. I'm 35 weeks now and all is fine.

Ah that's good, they don't retest so not sure if this is clearing it up my discharge has gone it's just the green discharge after time I go to the loo and wipe but I guess it's everything coming out! I've got to do another pessary After I've finished my antibiotics as there tablet form got to wait 24 hours then pessary but I'm always getting thrush think if I get it again after this I will have to speak to the gp or face the fact this is what I suffer with during pregnancy xx

I just found it and I had the same prescription. I was advised to retest after I was finished all treatment to be sure it was gone. I waited about a week and retested and still had thrush so had another pessary for that. Retested again and finally was clear.

My GP actually gave me a couple of testing kits to do at home that I could just drop off at the clinic.

Ah ok thank you I will contact my gp once I have finished everything to retest then it will ease my mind anyway thrush don't bother me it's the bv as it's dangerous during pregnancy xx I hope all goes well for you xx
