Terrified for first scan as dates don’t match up

Hi guys. According to the dates of my last “period” (bleeding after an mc at 5.5 weeks- if this was a chemical, wouldn’t it just be a heavy period tho?)

According to that I’m approaching 7 weeks. But I got a 2-3 on a clear blue digital a few days ago. The only way this makes sense is if I ovulated 2 weeks late. I’m expecting to either start bleeding at some point or have a bad outcome at the scan. I can’t get my head around the dates saying almost 7 weeks but getting the 2-3. I’m mortified. HELP.

Because my head is screaming at me that at almost 7 weeks according to last bleed means there MUST be a heartbeat and high enough hcg for there to be one.

You could go for an early scan for peace of mind, or maybe wait another week.

You are getting positive pregnancy tests and you aren’t bleeding or having any signs of miscarriage. That’s a good thing.

I know it’s easier said than done but you need to try to relax a bit as it’s a long journey!

If an early scan just to check where you’re at would help you feel better then I think you should do that and PLEASE put away the tests!!!

Are you able to ask for an early reassurance scan at your EPU to ease your anxieties? If you explain your situation they may book you in, and then at least you will have some idea of where you are at. Xx

My worst fear is losing some symptoms then having the Scab and seeing either an empty sac or no heartbeat.

Symptoms come and go. You will not always have symptoms, some people don’t get any.

Mine came and went - some days I felt totally normal and other days just had mild tiredness.

It’s not an indication that anything is wrong.

It’s just exhausting tbh. Taking every time my boobs feel flatter or I’m not bloated as a sign of a mmc. Sad

I just feel like mcs are so common and I’ve only had one early mc/ chemical , so I feel like I’d be really lucky to see a heartbeat this time? Hearing about people having at least two on almost every post is making me feel like it’s be stranger for me to not have one?

Missed miscarriage is pretty rare, it’s more likely you would have bleeding if you were miscarrying.

I would suggest booking in for an early scan as it sounds like you’re really panicking.

The alternative is to trust your body and wait until your 12 week scan - I did and I’m now 38 weeks ☺️

Have you got a date for your booking appointment with your midwife yet? It might be worth discussing your worries with her.

I understand the feeling of thinking it’s all going to go wrong again, but the odds are in your favour. Is there anyone you can talk to or anything you can do to take your mind off it?

I am Seeing the midwife on the 12th, which I hope will be reassuring Smile.
