Hi girls I have my anomaly scan tomorrow, what should I be expecting other than the observation of the 11 conditions?

Is there anything that I should be worried about?

They check baby from literally their toes to the top of their head, it’s very thorough. They will tell you straight away if everything looks good or if there are any concerns. That’s it really! Xx

Also be prepared that sometimes the baby is in an awkward position so they can’t see everything they need to clearly. They may try and get you to get them to move around a bit (I had to drink Coke and do star jumps) and if that doesn’t work you may need to come back for a re scan! It’s really normal for that to happen and doesn’t mean anything’s wrong

Some say to drink orange juice to get the baby "hyper" while others say too much energy in the baby results in unclear observations?

I'd go in without doing anything different than you normally would. If baby is asleep in an awkward position, then try something caffeinated and/or sugary. If too wriggly, and the sonographer can't get good enough results, then they can bring you back for a re-scan on another day.

My letter said to bring a sugary drink like orange juice, but not to drink it unless the sonographer told me to. Luckily it wasn’t needed and they managed to get everything. His head was right in my pelvis so I had to have loads of pillows underneath me to make him float away from it a bit so she could see his face!
