Maybe clutching at straws here Grin

I went to 42 weeks with my first baby, it was miserable.

Now 35 weeks with baby number 2, but has been a completely different pregnancy, several minor bleeds, carrying really low, lots of pressure / pain in cervix, baby is bigger and braxton hicks since around 19 weeks. I just have a feeling he'll be early.

No each time I was convinced I would be early and each time I was later than the last time. First was 11 days over, then 13 then 15. It’s very likely that you’ll go over again unfortunately, not what you want to hear sorry! Think of your pregnancy as 42 weeks and any earlier is a bonus.

@chickensafari no no no, this is not what I want to hear Grin I know the chances are you are probably right!

Dd1 i said would come on her due date she did. Dd2 i said would be early. Arrived 33w4d ds i said would be early was born 37w6d

Haha I’m sorry, maybe thing of some lovely things you can do in those two weeks if you do go overdue to make the time go quickly and stop you going mad watching and waiting.
The good news is that second babies usually fly out with very little effort at all, so you might be two weeks overdue but it’s v likely that you’ll have a nice easy birth xx

No. I had an episode of reduced movement at 33 weeks and the doctors nearly whipped her out there and then, I was told anything else and she was getting evicted but obviously it was better to try and get to 37 weeks. My mum had me (first baby) a week early and had a v. Short labour.

My baby was born at 41 weeks after a 27 hour labour.

Yes, but only by 5 days.

DS1 had arrived 5 days before his due date, DS1 dragged his feet and was 5 days after.

With DS3 I had my check up with the midwife at 38+6 and when I left she said she'd see me next week. I told her I was sure I'd go into labour before then.

Sure enough, next day I felt him drop down further into my pelvis making it even more of a struggle to waddle around, and he arrived a couple of days after that, at 39+2.

So not very early, but my instincts were right Grin

I kept feeling like baby 6 would not hold on, my other spontaneous labours were close to due date and arrived 2 & 5 days after due dates, 1 was induction and twins elcs. I was booked for elcs at 39wk due to her size and previous cs scar. I had tightenings that woke me 3am 38+6, I was in denial saying they were just braxton hicks but by 3pm I had to admit it was labour. I was 3cm when got checked at hospital and they got me in to surgery after 11pm. Started to get scar rupture and lost a lot of blood as she was a whopping 10lb 15oz, that was what I was most worried about too. I would have been happy to go early if not for the scar tissue, had another similar size naturally before.

Really interesting responses, thanks all!

I'm so rubbish at this unpredictable birthing lark.

I had a feeling I would be early with my first, and I was 10 days early! I also thought I would be early with me second, and he came 4 days late, so you never know!

AdelindSchade · 28/09/2021 20:37

Yes I did for similar reasons as you and she was a couple of weeks early.

BraveBananaBadge · 28/09/2021 20:42

Yes, my first DS was a week early and I just knew his brother would be early too - and he was by five days.

Similarly my first labour was pretty quick and I had a feeling the second one would be too - it was (shaved two hours off my time as well! Grin)

bangonthedoorgroovychick · 28/09/2021 20:44

Noop, I was CONVINCED I was going to be early both times. I was late both times by 1 week

myreddressmydaughtersbear · 28/09/2021 21:08

@BraveBananaBadge oh don't! My first was 4h total, so scared this one will be ridiculously quick!
