No there doesn’t have to be blood. If it’s a nice big blob of jelly then it probably is a bit of mucus plug.

I remember thinking I’d lost my whole mucus plug but then later on when my waters broke, so much more came out and I realised what I’d lost before must just have been a tiny piece of it. Sorry if that’s TMI.

Best of luck.

That's what I was thinking, it just threw me as it came thick and fast with streaks in the first time around! I know I could still be waiting a while but it gives me hope things are moving in the right direction!😂

@CountDownnn it's such a drag once you hit the date isn't it! I went 2 weeks over with my first so also trying to look for signs things are on the move but I'm not feeling hopeful! Not long left now! Good luck to you too!x

@Mel892020 aw did you? Did you have to be induced with first or did baby naturally come after 2weeks? I’m a nervous wreck as I’m terrified of induction and really hoping and praying it happens naturally x

Mel892020 · 27/09/2021 09:52

@CountDownnn yeah I was induced but honestly it was such a relaxed and nice experience I was dreading it too, I suppose it is what you make it! But I quite enjoyed knowing when she was coming, I hope it happens naturally for you!x

@Mel892020 if you don’t mind me asking how did the induction go? What was the process x

Mel892020 · 27/09/2021 11:07

@CountDownnn of course, I went in due to bleeding so was instantly put on the hormone drip which meant contractions started almost immediately, after a couple of hours I came off the drip as my body was labouring itself, with it been induction I was monitored throughout so couldn't get off the bed which was the only thing that really bothered me! I ended up having an episiotomy and ventous (vacuum) just to help with delivery (which may sound not very relaxing to others) but it was all so very well controlled it just made me feel at ease! All in all I started contracting at around 10pm and she was born at 3am!
Don't forget everyone's experienced and expectations are completely different 🙈
