I'm 39+1 and just wondering what people's first signs of labour were in a ftm too

My only sign of labour was back pain. It came in waves and I didn't realise it was labour as I had no pain or felt any different around my bump. So I went for a walk to try and ease the back pain, bounced on a birthing ball, tried to get some sleep but couldn't for the pain. Called the EPU to check everything out and I was 5cm dilated. That pain lasted throughout and midwives had to break my waters at which point I also lost the mucus plug, and that was nearly 18 hours in!

I went into labour at 39+2 with my first. I had cramp-like stomach pains during the day, but honestly thought they were related to indigestion rather than labour. They weren't anywhere near enough to stop me getting on with my normal activities, in fact I spent the day finishing off some Christmas shopping.

My waters broke at 11pm that night, again nothing too dramatic like on TV, more of a trickle. DS was born less than 5 hours later!

Ohhh these are interesting, I've been getting back ache and more pressure in my pelvis but that's it really

Losing some of my plug, and then my waters breaking a few days later. At the time I didn't pay much attention to losing some of my plug, as it can come and go throughout pregnancy.

I woke up with a small pain and had major diarrhoea. I then had a really sore pain and then another. Then I knew.

I was lying in bed and restless, couldn’t sleep but no cramps. A few hours later started getting pains on and off, not regular. Then a bit later bam no mistaking it I was in a lot of pain, frequent obvious contractions and that was that😂 had baby a few hours later!

Mine was a minor contraction that woke me up about 3am, followed by another at about 5.30. By midday I was sure something was happening as I'd had a couple more mild contractions and a show. It was a long, slow labour, about 21 hours, and he finally arrived at 00:10, when I was 39+2.
