Itching driving me crazy!

Hey lovely ladies,
40 week lady here 🥰
Can anyone please share their advice or experience on rashy, severely itchy, stretch marks! It is driving me absolutely crazy! The itch is so painful!
I had a call with the doctor (not face to face) she gave me hydrocortisone and some oat moisturiser, but it just doesn’t seem to be cutting it. It does take the edge of during the day but on a night it can be unbearable, so I end up itching it which hurts and have broken the skin 😕
I do have a midwife appointment on Tuesday so I am going to speak to her about it then too.

Thankyou for any help

You poor thing. I find using a shower oil rather than any kind of body wash helps. Has to be actual oil and not gel containing oils. L’occitane do the best one but it’s expensive. There was a nivea one but I think it’s been discontinued. I’ve not tried it but this one looks good: www.boots.com/bioderma-atoderm-shower-oil-200ml-10226265

I've had unbearably itchy legs and the midwife recommended aqueous cream with menthol, it really works but makes your skin feel like you're in a fridge!

Euarax anti itch cream, saved my life at the end of my first pregnancy.
But you should also get yourself checked out for this:
Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy
I think they diagnosis it using a blood test. It's probably not the cause but worth getting it checked out anyway.

Brilliant Thankyou so much!

Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

@steph246 I've got a prescription of Dermol 500 which has helped.

Agree with @ArabellaStrange

I itched in my first pregnancy and it was that (otherwise known as obstetric cholestasis)

Not had it since and now realise how abnormal all that itching (and the intensity of the itching was).

Please talk to your midwife. You need your liver function checked.
