Bad cramps early pregnancy

I am currently 5.5 weeks pregnant and I am getting intermittent cramps in my uterus that have me in quite some pain for around 5-10 minutes. Happens about 3/4 times a day and sometimes wakes me up at night. Once they ease off I feel fine! No bleeding or spotting. Anyone else had this and able to put my mind at ease?

I'm very much not a doctor but I've googled this many times for myself and the consensus does seem to be that it's normal. Apparently what you don't want is pain and bleeding together, one or the other is usually okay, especially if it's just cramps.

Thanks so much for replying to my post! Yeah I have googled the hell out of it too and read the same. Spoke to the doctor on the phone this morning, he was not helpful at all- said it will either be a miscarriage or it wont, and just to see how I go?! Didn't seem interested. The fact the cramps come and go and I have no bleeding even after a week of them, makes me feel a little more optimistic. Have you had similar?
