Hi lovelies this is my first pregnancy after two mc & I haven't felt movements yet? For some reason I've got excruciating stomach pain that's very much internal.

I did call midwife about this but she's said it's not a concern???!!

Pregnancy after mc is hard, it’s natural to worry more. I was around 23 weeks when I felt my first and I also had period like symptoms. Keep in touch with your midwife but also know that many women don’t feel movement as early as twenty weeks. I’m not sure what the recommendations are now for pain in pregnancy but definitely ask your midwife or out of hours team, you should be able to take something.

I'd ring the out of hours midwife or one of the numbers on your maternity notes. The midwife saying nothing to worry about is bullshit I think!!! Especially the pain you're having. Get it checked out.

zinky · 24/09/2021 00:45

Call the maternity assessment unit, they will immediately check you

haidri · 24/09/2021 06:47

Nobody's checking me because they're saying it's not a concern if nothings accompanying bleeding... how is this normal?!

I know how hard this is having had 4 miscarriages. I worry so much about movements.

Do you know your placenta position? If it’s anterior (I.e at the front) this can really muffle movements. Your 12 week scan report should tell you. I have had this in my current pregnancy and it took a lot longer to feel consistent movement.

When is your 20 week scan? Hopefully that will provide some assurance?

Hopefulbride18 · 24/09/2021 06:53

Did you call the maternity triage number or your community midwife? I can't believe they won't see you! When's your 20 week scan?

mummyh2016 · 24/09/2021 07:33

They won't normally see you as it can be up to 24 weeks without feeling movement unfortunately depending on where the placenta is. Have you had your 20 week scan yet?

JamieNorthlife · 24/09/2021 08:11

You can go to the maternity unit for a reassurance scan. If its like my local unit, you may have to wait for a couple of hours depending how busy they are.

Hi lovelies, my 20 week scan is next week but went in emergency today. Even though I didn't get a scan, they checked baby's heartbeat and we got a strong heartbeat thank God! The pain was stemming from a UTI & Sciatic pain that has inflamed my uterus and tummy

Good to hear the strong heartbeat

I didn’t feel any movement until about 22 weeks, hopefully you will start feeling wriggles and kicks soon!
