This really…

I have been back 6 months and I have just found out I am expecting again.
I am beside myself with worry.
Pregnancy no2 is unexpected and was not planned

I was the same! Back 6 months hen fell pregnant, so I was back a year before going off again. No one had any issues at all :)

I've been back for 8 months before falling pregnant again. Planned, but unexpectedly quick (for me). As I'm expecting to go off from 28 weeks in early January (clinical, no possibility of WFH), there will be 14 months between maternity leaves. Nobody has been anything less than happy for me.

11 months between 1 and 2; 2 years between 2 and 3 and it'll be just over 2 years between 3 and 4. My work have been fab about it every time.

I suspect that most employers kind of expect (or certainly aren't surprised at) someone taking a second mat leave within a couple of years of the first.

Colleague came back 6 months pregnant. Work kept her maternity cover on for the 3 months said it was cheaper to double pay for the 2.5 months than to train someone.

I understand your worry because I would probably feel the same way but theres actually no need to feel guilty! If it were a colleague of mine then I would only feel happy for them. It's not an unusual age gap so I don't think it'll be a big suprise to anyone.

I'm 34 now having my first so I won't want to wait too long before having my second either.

@SueyF my employer was fine with it, they can’t discriminate against you for being pregnant anyway.

My sister is a teacher...went back in July for three days and then properly restarted in the september. was off on maternity leave again the follow May so less than a year in total (baby wasn't an accident...they just didn't think it would happen so quickly!)

I was already pregnant when I went back to work so did 6 months. This pregnancy was a surprise and I did feel guilty as I expected a bigger gap. I took a temporary role when I went back and that made it seem better. Everyone has been lovely about it but I work for a large organisation so they are used to it.
