Hi it’s me again

I have another question.

Few days ago I found out I was pregnant after IVF treatment (my first pregnancy and I’m 37 years old) I’ve been on progesterone pessaries since egg collection.

Can someone please advice about aspirin? My fertility clinic has not mentioned this and I’ve just been referred to the midwife at the hospital yesterday and assuming they won’t see me for at least a month. Should I start aspirin or wait till midwife appointment?

Mines an IVF pregnancy and I didn't take aspirin until 150mg daily was was recommended to me at my "12 week" midwife appointment/scan (actually at 13 and a half weeks for me) - it's my first pregnancy too.

They base whether you likely need it on a check criteria, I'm on it as I'm both over 35 and a IVF pregnancy (as you need to "check" 2 boxes) - so you will likely be recommended it too. I remember some of the other reasons were any history of pre-eclampsia in a previous pregnancy/immediate family or a BMI over 30 but there were probably others (diabetes?).

I read that ideally you should start taking it by 16 weeks if its needed, so it should be okay to wait. But if you are worried, it might be worth contacting your IVF clinic? They should be able to tell you if it's safe to take now before talking to a midwife.
