Hi, I'm just wondering how many people have bled brown discharge in early pregnancy? I'm around 5 weeks after having a early scan.. would just like to know how many people actually still went on to have the baby normally or not? This is the 4th day I've had spotting, it's not heaving just once a day getting a patch of it then it's just tiny bits when I wipe

Hi. I had brown and red spotting from 8 weeks onwards. Quite frequently but never heavy. I've continued to get spotting on/off throughout my pregnancy which I now know is due to cervical ectropion. It doesn't affect the baby. I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant now 😊

Best of luck! 💕

I’ve just had to google cervical ectropion and when I had my last smear the women showed me a red patch that looked just like that but wasn’t worried about it she just wanted me to go back in 12months to keep an eye on it. I’m wondering if it’s that now did you find that out because of bleeding while pregnant?. Mine has just been spotting but definitely seems abit heavier today.

Thanks so much ♥️

So it might well be that then! A Doctor should be able to see if it's an ectropion if you have another cervical examination (which you most likely will if it spotting/ bleeding continues in pregnancy to see what's going on).

I had it before I was pregnant, it was caused by a build up of hormones on the contraceptive pill. So I came off the pill toward the end of 2019 within a few months the ectropion had completely gone.

I then fell pregnant in January of this year and it got re-diagnosed at around 15 weeks after lots of episodes of spotting. It's harmless, it just causes unnecessary stress when I see blood! I'm used to it now so don't worry.

Keep an eye on it of if you're in doubt just give your GP or Hospital a call 😊

I'm just new to this forum so forgive me if I'm not in the right page to post this but here goes.

Im currently around 6 weeks pregnant (3rd pregnancy, first one MC, 2nd one fine and have an amazing 7 year old little girl).

Around the 5 week mark I had some red and pink spotting only when I wiped. Obviously panicked so went in for an emergency scan the following day. They said they could see the gestational sac and yolk sac which is all they would expect to see at this stage. Could see no bleeding or why I had spotting so they booked me in for a follow up scan for two weeks time.

Three days after the original spotting, I had the same again. I spotted the next morning then nothing until today (4 days later). Sorry tmi but I'm terribly constipated so had to strain a little then I started spotting.

These episodes don't seem to last long, don't require a pad at all and there's no actual flow, just wfen I wipe.

My scan isn't for another week and u feel like I'm being tortured. If course I'm googling (I know, I know) all the horror stories and have convinced myself of the worst.

I suppose I'm just looking for anyone who've been in a similar situation with a positive outcome?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
