Hi everyone,

I’ve been given antibiotics for an ingrown toenail whilst I’m 24 weeks pregnant but I’m worried it’s not safe?
There’s mixed views online, has anyone personally had these during pregnancy?

Does your GP know you are pregnant? If not, phone and check they're ok. If s/he does know but you're worried they forgot that when prescribing, phone and check.
You could also try a pharmacist - usually they know what is good in pregnancy.

If you use bumps (best use of medicines in pregnancy) website it will give you more info.

Here it what I found regarding flucloxacillin www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/bumps/monographs/USE-OF-FLUCLOXACILLIN-IN-PREGNANCY/

The pharmasist said this is the best site to use when looking at medicines safe to take in pregnancy

My GP wouldn't prescribe to me whilst pregnant. I would go back and check this with them.
