Bleeding at 6 weeks

Alisha32 · 21/09/2021 18:55

Hi there

I’m nearly 6 weeks pregnant. I had a miscarriage 3 years ago and been trying to conceive since then and it finally happened. All was well for the until I had brown spotting in week 4 on my pad. Then inconsistent days of fresh blood when I wiped. It would be on and off. Had a gap of 2-3 before I bled again. Now I’m getting red blood and small clots when I wipe but not flowing and filling the pad. Also I have been advised by the doctor to wait it out and do another pregnancy test in 2 days. Also I have noticed my breasts have gotten less sore. Any advice or information would be much appreciated as I am really scared.

Sorry to hear this. Not sure if it’s much help for you but I had regular spotting in this pregnancy until about 18 weeks and all was always ok, baby due next week:) it was never bleeding on its own but it was more spottting whenever I wipes- it was red/pink and lasted for maybe 2 or 3 wipes. Never really on its own. Doctor was never too concerned and he said it was pretty normal (he is the head of a maternity hospital so I trusted him) but it was very scary for me too. Fingers crossed for you

Thank you for the information it has given me some peace.

Every time I wipe i see red/pink or brown spotting it stopped for 2 days now it appeared again it's very on and off and I have been waiting for it to get heavier which hasn't happened yet plus I have no cramps today as I type this I am feeling nauseous boobs are sore feel abit low

I had bleeding around 5/6 weeks. Heavier than spotting, but not heavy and no clots. But it was fairly consistently there when I wiped. My pregnancy was ectopic and only picked up when it ruptured- so I would say be hyper vigilant for any aches and pains and push to be seen!

sellthesizzle · 21/09/2021 20:50

I bled on and off until 30 weeks. First time at six weeks and like you had to wait it out - it was awful, so sorry you're having to go through it to.

I had a low lying placenta and had quite a few scans during my pregnancy after bleeds and a consultancy unit delivery.

Elisemum · 21/09/2021 20:53

@Alisha32 sounds very similar to what I had. It was on maybe for 2 or 3 days (after every toilet visit) then maybe off for a w week, then back on again and so on. Every visit to the toilet was an awful stress for me but then suddenly and thankfully it stopped and never returned. I believe and hope it will be the same for you !

Mamainthemaking · 21/09/2021 20:57

I had a bleed at six weeks and had a scan at the EPU and all was fine. I’ve been bleeding on and off since (now 20 weeks). I’m really hoping you get good news too.

Alisha32 · 21/09/2021 21:03

@Mamainthemaking hey was your bleed bright red?
OP posts:
Mamainthemaking · 21/09/2021 23:13

Hi @Alisha32,

Yes it was bright red. More than spotting but not enough to fill a pantyliner.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you l.

Alisha32 · 21/09/2021 23:17

@Mamainthemaking thank you I am hoping it's nothing, just a matter of waiting I am trying to be positive but it's so difficult as I also don't want to get my hopes up

OP posts:
Ronnyrambler · 21/09/2021 23:29

@Alisha32 could you get a 6 week scan done? Either privately or at a drop in EPU near you? I thought pregmancy tets can show positive after miscarriage so I don't know how that would help.
I'm paying £70 for a 6 week scan tomorrow as I just can't wait until my 13 week scan date. Have had very light bleeding and breasts no longer tender so an worried.
I hope you'll be OK.

Alisha32 · 22/09/2021 00:32

@Ronnyrambler
Yeh I done a pregnancy thats showing as positive as expected so no point relying on that. I have been advised by EPU to wait it out I'm not sure how long to wait they also advised me to take a pregnancy after 7 days I have been waiting it's been a nightmare didn't expect my pregnancy to be like this it's so scary seeing blood at first it was spotting now it's like drops of blood I feel coming out no clots to pain just waiting for the period to get heavier.

Alisha32 · 22/09/2021 00:33

@Ronnyrambler I also wish you the best at your scan. Smile

Mamainthemaking · 22/09/2021 08:04

Good luck! I called the EPU direct and they got me in for a scan, so it might be worth a call.

mutedrainbows · 22/09/2021 08:15

I had bright red bleeding around 7 weeks, it was literally dripping like a faucet into the toilet Sad turns out I had a bleed site next to the sac which caused it, I bled for a few weeks off and on and baby was absolutely fine.

It's easy to think into it too much and think your boobs are less sore or you feel less nauseous but your head will be playing tricks on you...I hope everything works out for you x

Alisha32 · 22/09/2021 10:38

@mutedrainbows yeh it's such a confusing time for me now. Now my bleeding has calmed down which I don't understand woke up to no bleeding on pad was thinking it would get worse so it's on and off.

Sez93 · 23/09/2021 18:57

I've had 3 heavy bleeds during this pregnancy early on, at 7 weeks, 8 weeks and 9 weeks - nothing since and they could never tell me why. Sudden gush of blood each time, the final time had loads of clots too - but scan showed a strong heartbeat and baby moving arms and legs around 😊

Just thought I'd share a positive story from bleeding!

Alisha32 · 23/09/2021 20:35

@Sez93 aww that sounds amazing. I will be going for my scan tomorrow I am soo anxious don't know how I will handle the bad news Confused

OP posts:

Alisha32 · 29/09/2021 00:05

@Sez93 yes everything was okay at the scan thank god
Still anxious as I have been spotting but they advised that will happen

Sorry about the late reply hun

Thank you so much for asking xx

@Alisha32 Ahh that's great news ☺️ some of us just tend to be bleed and they don't necessarily know why!
