Kidneys low on anatomy scan

The sonographer said the kidneys were a little low but not in the pelvis at my 20 week scan. She said it is "usually" fine, and she's booked me in for an additional scan at 32 weeks to see if they are okay. But that's three months away! I'm so scared that something is wrong, but I'm scared to google as I know I will just see the worst case scenarios. Has anybody else had this happen to them?

Anyone?

I googled it as I know Google can be scary and there's a lot of stuff on kidneys but mostly kidneys on the larger side. The ones I did find tho all said that it usually rectifies itself so fingers crossed at your next scan all will be well xx

First, I am not a kidney expert, not a doctor. But I do know that we start of life as foetuses with 6 kidneys. It seems possible that your baby might have kept the lowest set. Which might be ok.

Really you need to wait to see the specialist, but if they were very worried you would be seeing them now, not watching and waiting.
