I'm having b/g twins very soon and we're thinking of the following names:

Elena/Elena-Rose
Ruby
Caitlin

James
Cai
Alexander (Xander)

What do you think? I'd really appreciate your opinions

i like all the names except Cai

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 05/12/2007 19:48

Thanks belgo

I'm really appreciating all these opinions!

belgo · 05/12/2007 19:49

you have to let us all know when the twins are born and the names you choose!

Isawthreetripscomesailingby · 05/12/2007 21:56

Hi,
Well, I love the name Elena, James and Alexander.
My own trio are Rebecca Anne
Thomas Matthew
James Alexander

My niece had twins three weeks ago,b/g
Callum Michael
Poppy Ruth
There are so many lovely names, but I guess I do myself like traditional, good solid names!

janeite · 05/12/2007 21:59

I like all of them except Cai, which I'm afraid I really don't like at all.

berolina · 05/12/2007 22:00

Elena (was on our girls' list for ds1), James and Alexander (ds1's second middle name) are lovely. I sort-of like Ruby. Don't like Caitlin, or Cai - spelt with a K it's a common but now rather outmoded boy's name in Germany.

MrsWeasleysmagicmincepies · 05/12/2007 22:03

not keen on Cai but love the others.
Goodluck

I very of you. What a lovely family.

moljam · 05/12/2007 22:03

do you know the song sweet baby james??awww
i have a james!
prefer this spelling of kai
not sure on caitlin

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 05/12/2007 22:18

So Cai/Kai is quite unpopular? hmm...I didn't expect that!

I was expecting Xander to be disliked tbh.

decisions decisions!

pinetreedog · 05/12/2007 22:35

don't like cai. others are ncie

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 06/12/2007 06:02

I like Cai, it reminds me of the Snow Queen only that was Kai I think.

Something tells me it is possibly used among the 'popular classes' though? Which I don't think matters really.

AussieSim · 06/12/2007 06:19

My DS2 is Kai. It has many different meanings depending which country we are talking about. It is popular here in Oz as there is a surfer who is doing quite well - I didn't know this when I picked it - but he won't feel like a freak at school - that I know!

Ruby and Caitlin are v popular so I would go with Elena ... I am stuck for girls names myself actually at the mo. Tough one. good luck!

nappyaddict · 06/12/2007 08:16

i like all of them.

suzywong · 06/12/2007 08:18

Elena and James get my vote

Didylicious · 06/12/2007 08:38

I like Elena-Rose and Alexander the best.

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 06/12/2007 09:45

I like them all except Cai
I think Elena and Alexander would be nice, but obv have no idea what the triplets are called.
(I know 3 families who have a JAmes and Caitlin so they obv go together well as well)
BTW, did your DH give up on the New Zealand idea> in the end?

RibenaBerry · 06/12/2007 13:33

I like cai, but mostly when it is short for Malachai. For some reason I have a thing against names that are only three letters long in their 'full' form. I know, I'm weird. It just doesn't feel like there is 'enough' of them. Goodness, I am bonkers aren't I.

I like Eleanor, Caitlin, James and Alexander the best. Not keen on Ruby just because it's so popular here at the moment (but maybe that's less true in the US?).

Your profile made me laugh so much. Gosh, twins and triplets, you'll have your hands full!

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 06/12/2007 14:15

Trio are called Molly, Maisie (May) and Reuben (Ben)

MrsJMC, my dh did give up on NZ, I persuaded that it wasn't a good outcast....one day maybe, but now is not the time.

belgo · 06/12/2007 14:16

lovely names

kittylouise · 06/12/2007 14:20

Elena/Elena-Rose
Ruby
Caitlin

James
Cai
Alexander (Xander)

All of these are lovely names, apart from Cai, which I think is too 'modern'.

Elena and James are my favourites.

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 06/12/2007 18:45

oh good tripletsandtwins - it sounded like SUCH a stressful thing to do!

good luck with the births

seeker · 06/12/2007 19:02

I like Cai - but only as short for Malachai. Then he could be Mal if he wanted instead, and also he'd would have a 'serious" traditional type name to use if he ever gets to be Prime Minister or the director of a merchant bank. I always feel a bit sorry for children with very unusual names with no fall back safety net type second name! Like the very serious reporter on the BBC who's called Kylie. I can't see past her name to hear what she's got to say. Very shallow of me, I know!

devonsmummy · 06/12/2007 19:15

I love Xander - and it goes well with Reuben.

I think Elena goes best with Molly & Maisie xx

Tinasan · 06/12/2007 20:10

What good taste you have - I have a beautiful little Elena myself!! James and Alexander are both lovely names. Not so keen on Cai, and I don't think it goes as well with your other childrens names. Best of luck with all of your babies, you will certainly have your hands full!

nooka · 06/12/2007 20:38

I like Alexander or James and think both go with Reuben (great name). We have a good friend who is Sandy which is another Alexander shortening. I agree with others about Cai, and I'm not a fan of Ruby. I would assume that anyone with a Caitlin and an Alexander was Scottish
