Hi ladies.

Just as the title says really, I’m on a few threads here & whilst I really enjoy talking to so many different women I’m struggling to remain as positive. I’ve had 2 previous losses so I know it’s only natural to feel anxious, but it really is ruining the first trimester for me (I’m currently 10 weeks). I’ve had an early scan where we saw a strong heartbeat & got another scan booked for this weekend but the fear I have that when I go back the heartbeat will be gone is driving me insane. I know what will be will be but it’s so hard not to send your mind into overdrive isn’t it? I want to get excited at the thought of buying stuff & telling family but it’s completely taking the shine away.

Anyway rant over. Any of you lovely ladies know of any good websites or books that could help ease my fears?

Wish you all the happiest & healthiest of pregnancies ❤️

Me!!
I'm around 6 weeks but got positive tests around 3 weeks ago. I have been consumed with anxiety since I found out and am convinced I am going to have a MMC. I had an early NHS scan last week due to problems with contraception and dating and the baby was measuring smaller than I expected and they've rebooked me for 2 weeks. Strangely it hasn't made me feel more anxious though, just justified in my anxiety. The sonographer wasn't overly worried but I KNOW it should have been measuring bigger.

Have 1 DD who I had no issues with in the early days of pregnancy so have no idea why I am so anxious. It is genuinely all I think about all day long. I have no advice but you're definitely not alone. I am spending all day in bed when I'm not working feeling utterly miserable. I hope everything goes well for you and this passes for you too.

@theohsogreatandwonderful it really is a stressful time isn’t it? I really hope all goes well for you also. I’m off work unwell atm too so I really do have nothing else to do apart from think of all the things that can go wrong. Then I’ll have a short burst of positivity thinking ofcourse everything will be fine, but it doesn’t last long & the anxiety returns.

Hopefully these feelings don’t last forever for either of us. Healthy pregnancies all round 🥰

I had a MMC the first time I was pregnant. I went on to have two healthy babies. All I can say is that the worrying about what might go wrong stayed with me each time, but got me nowhere. If you have had an early scan with a strong heartbeat that is a wonderful thing...if I listened to my own advice I'd say try to enjoy your pregnancy and wait to meet your lovely baby x

Me too. MC at the beginning of June, now 8+1 and terrified of finding out we had a MMC at my 12 week scan (reassurance scans aren't a thing where I live). Trying to be a positive as possible and actually quite relieved that I feel nauseous most of the day and my boobs are really sore, I'm taking this as a sign that hormones are going in the right direction 😅.

I have a shopping trip planned with my mum when I'll be about 10 weeks and she's all excited to start looking at baby stuff but I'm terrified that buying anything will 'jinx' it. That being said I can understand my mum's reasoning, she had a miscarriage at 13 weeks when I was around 10 years old and had been gifted with a baby blanket by a family member and she still has it as a keepsake. Maybe buying a babygro or something will make me feel better 🤷🏼😅

@shannonl26 you must be nearing your 12 week scan date by now, hope everything goes well for you and would love an update x
