When did you first see the heartbeat?

We've got a private scan booked for 7 weeks (a week tomorrow) and I'm just curious on when you first saw your little one's heartbeat? I know some are lucky in seeing it around 6 weeks Smile

The reason why we've got an early scan is for reassurance after an early miscarriage in July and to surprise MIL as she is over for a week visiting.

I had a scan at 6 weeks at the FMU and saw a heartbeat but the consultant did warn me we might not. Fingers crossed for you!

babyboybluex · 20/09/2021 12:08

Ah that's lovely @Knock123! Was it transvaginal? Congratulations x

9w4d, transvaginal- but that was our first scan :)

Good luck for your scan!

JackJack84 · 20/09/2021 12:14

I first saw the heartbeat at 7+5 weeks on a transvaginal scan

cactijones · 20/09/2021 12:16

I booked an early one at 8 weeks and saw it then

cactijones · 20/09/2021 12:16

Internal scan

Knock123 · 20/09/2021 12:24

@babyboybluex yes with the probe!!

Greybutterfly · 20/09/2021 12:26

We saw at 6 weeks 6 days

ShowOfHands · 20/09/2021 12:28

6wks 2days with a TV scan. Had another scan at 7+5 and saw it abdominally.

babyboybluex · 20/09/2021 12:47

Thanks everyone! How was it getting a transvaginal scan?

I've had a sweep/examined previously with my son so it should be all good Smile

7 weeks exactly, transvaginal at EPU. Had had a previous scan at 5 weeks where we saw sac and yolk so 7 weeks was my repeat scan. The scan might be mildly uncomfortable but should be fine! Good luck Flowers

Nothing at 5 weeks but lovely strong heartbeat at 8 weeks Smile

shannonl26 · 20/09/2021 14:35

7w3d & it was transvaginal. I found no discomfort at all & the sonographer was lovely & reassuring throughout. Good luck OP 🥰

6+1 and 6+3 weeks for both DS2 and DD. Abdominal scans for me

Aranciata · 20/09/2021 15:13

At 6+2, abdominal scan to check the location of the pregnancy and then transvaginal (which I was more used to after IVF). The clinic did say there was no guarantee to see a heartbeat that early and I would have been rescanned later if necessary.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 20/09/2021 15:38

7+4 at a transvaginal scan. I was seeing a reproductive endocrinologist so had LOADS of scans.

wannabeamummysobad · 20/09/2021 16:07

7W1D GA abdominally and a strong immediate heartbeat. I'd read that from 6W GA you should be able to though I guess every pregnancy is different

MintyGreenDream · 20/09/2021 16:08

8 weeks
