Brown discharge around 8 weeks pregnant

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced what I have as I'm really worried, I think I'm around 2 months pregnant.. 2 days ago I had pink discharge after intercourse then today I had quite a bit brown. Been to the hospital they couldn't give me a scan but checked my cervix and said they're closed so doesn't look like a miscarriage.

Got a scan Tuesday but would love some reassurance 🙏

I had this with my first pregnancy which was an IVF pregnancy and I was terrified so I spoke to the clinic nurses and they reassured me that brown is old blood and not to worry to much as it was possibly just the placenta bedding in. The added the caveat of seek further advice if bleeding became heavier/ red / painful it didn't and I have a very cheeky toddler thankfully fast asleep currently.

I had brown discharge throughout the first trimester. I had 2 bright red bleeds as well (first one was at 8 weeks), another a couple of weeks later. Baby was always fine and I'm now 21 weeks. Intercourse can irritate the cervix easier in pregnancy.

Thanks for your reply this makes me feel abit better about things. I think I'd faint if I seen real red bloody lol. Yeah I did read up on that think I might have to skip that for a while now 🤦‍♀️X

@Mammytobee I did actually faint and fall down the stairs (we have a quarter staircase, so not a whole flight down) when I had the gush of blood at night at 10 weeks. Luckily I landed OK but it was scary! No one warns you about these parts of pregnancy 😌

Haudyourwheesht · 19/09/2021 22:06

I had it a couple of times with my first pregnancy and all was well.

If it’s after sex it’ll be a bit of cervical irritation and nothing to worry about - I had this in the first trimester too x

Ohh so sorry to hear that, it was just a figure of speech 🤦‍♀️. So glad everything was ok!! X

@Mammytobee haha yep, well I actually did it! 😅 first time I've ever fainted.
Have you had any more spotting?

Nothing like yesterday thanks for asking 😊. Tiny bits but at the hospital yesterday she said not to worry if there's a little bit more because she could see a little bit more up there. I can't wait for my scan tmro to check everything is ok 🙏 X

Hey, apparently I'm only 5 weeks and couldn't find a heartbeat she said it's too soon so I have to go back in 10 days. They're treating it as a threatened miscarriage as of now. It's going to be a long 10 days 😔. X

Fingers crossed for you. I was in the same situation 5 years ago. Brown discharge, too early for a heartbeat, and I now have a 4 year old, so it can go ok. Thanks

Thanks so much!! Mine stops then randomly starts again just when I think it has stopped. It's hard to think positive when it keeps happening but there is so many people this has happened to so there is still hope 🙏X
