17 weeks, feel awful

So since about 5 weeks pregnant I’ve been vomiting constantly. I’ve lost over a stone.
Midwife said ‘well it’s not like you didn’t have it to lose, do you know you’re overweight?’
My head is like a migraine 90% of the time, I’m dehydrated, feel so awful and the midwife and gp just say it’s morning sickness and normal. How can I help myself?

Have they tested your wee for keytones? You sound like you have HG! It's absolutely awful!!!! & You midwife sounds like a complete bitch!

Im pregnant with my 4th and had hg with all of them.. luckily I'm about 18 weeks and it's eased now.. but I was on anisickness and in hospital on a drip on many occasions.. try having ice lollys to keep Hydrated and keep calling the doctors or if it's that's bad and you can't keep water down at all go to a&e! Xxx

GP can and should prescribe meds. Go to another GP in the practice if yours won’t. I’m sorry you’re going through this Flowers

What a horrible, unsympathetic comment.

Agree with others: time to kick up a fuss about a new GP / midwife, and push for some anti-sickness pills. They dont work for everyone - they made absolutely no difference for me for 1st trimester sickness - but others swear by them. Worth a go.

It is normal unfortunately. And super shit. I know it’s not much consolation now but for the majority of people it really does get better in trimester 2.

As well as actual medicine, I recommend peppermint or peppermint and fennel tea, and sucking peppermints helped me too.

I had to kick up a lot of fuss to get the tablets I know worked for me.. I argued with my doctor non stop.. but without those tablets I would of been in hospital every other day...

You can buy keto test strips from Amazon.. get those if you have ketones in your wee then you need to be on a drip.. go to a&e or take the strip to your doctor's.. it's unbelievable how many doctors don't take this seriously.. it really gets you down! Xx
