11 year age gap

I'm currently pregnant with DC3, due in April.

I have 2 daughters who will be 12 and 11 by then. It's not the gap that I ideally want but it's the one we have so we'll make it work.

My main worries are that by 2 daughters are so close and I feel guilty that DC3 won't have that sibling connection. Growing up I was the eldest by 8 years, I have 2 siblings who were 18months apart and I only really became close with them in my 20's really.

Has anyone else had experience of this age gap and how are you finding it?

Similar situation. I'm 16+1 with dc3. My girls are 11 and 7. It's not the ideal gap but they're both so excited to have a baby sibling so we'll make it work.

I have a 14 year 1 week age gap between DS1 and DS2, i don't have 2 close together then 1 later, but for finding it wise with the big gap works out well for me, my DS1 understands the attention needed for his brother (which he wouldn't of done when younger as he was very clingy) DS2 is now 13 weeks old and I have plenty of time for him whilst DS1 is at school, and like wise when the little one goes to bed at 7pm I have time for the bigger one, (even tho spending time with mam is abit uncool at the mo, xbox and mates are apparently) in all fairness I didn't intend to have that big of a age gap but I now I have I think it's fab, love having a little one again , and for him to have a sibling, plus the added bonus of a little help here and there, congratulations! 😊

I have a 6 year age gap between my two and they are totally into different things as you can imagine with one being in school and the other being a toddler!

I’m just hoping when they are older they can be close because you can’t really tell an age gap then.

Understandably developmentally they are on totally different spectrums at the minute.

I'm currently TTC for baby no.3 and have very similar age gaps between the first 2 and the 3rd. Following for advice.

I have a 14 year age gap. It’s been great for having a babysitter. They are really close.

Thanks for all your replies, it's made be feel really positive about it all.

I'm already looking forward to giving this little one some undivided attention, having a 14 month age gap between DC1 and DC2 I always felt a little robbed on the newborn stage the second time around.
