Induction Advice

Hi, I’m 38+1 today and I’m really stressing about my labour. I’m due Friday 1st October, but the weekend after that my husband is on call (he’s an undertaker), there’s no one else to do that weekend as it’s a family business and the in-laws are away to a wedding. If I go into labour that weekend I have no one to take me to the hospital (over 1 hour away) or even have a labour partner as my mum will be babysitting for our son.

I’m wondering if I can request an induction at 40 weeks? I have hypothyroidism too which classifies me as a high risk pregnancy, I’m not sure if this would work in my favour though as my previous pregnancy went fine.

I’m just so stressed and anxious about the whole situation 😩

You can but ask, you have a good reason. However I hope you go into spontaneous labour before it is necessary.

Good luck.

I would deffo ask, worst case is they say no but then atleast you know you've tried.
Worst case, can your mum drive you to hosp with your son?
