Hi, I'm 38+5 with first DS. I've been having regular BH for weeks now, but had a 3 hour spell of very strong ones, every 20 mins in the middle of the night. I was peeing every 10 mins and had lots of wind. At the time I really thought that could be the start of something but as I dozed after 3 hours I guess it wasn't. Eased off this morning, but still got niggles. Could this be the start? Head was 3/5s last Friday, don't see midwife till 14th. I've been taking rasp leaf capsules - is it ok to carry on taking them?

Sorry for the long post, I know I'll know when it happens, but just wondered if this could be the start?

Are you still peeing a lot? I think you should get your urine checked for a urinary infection. A urinary infection can cause mild contractions.

If you haven't got a urinary infection, it could be the start of labour - prelabour - which helps prepare you and the baby for the real thing

I don't know about the raspberry leaf capsules

no the peeing has eased off, it was only when the BH were really regular, there was no pain when passing water either, did feel like DS was jumping on my bladder though! He seemed quite active, and felt alot of movements lower than usual. I was convinced things would get stronger but then when I fell asleep and its eased since I woke up I wondered if it was just BH

the peeing could have been due to the baby pushing on your bladder then, as you've said.

Pre labour can go on for a while (even a week or more), but the good thing is, it really helps get the baby into the right position, and helps changes in your body to prepare your body for labour.
