Am I pregnant?

Hi,

I did a clear blue pregnancy test and both times the vertical line has been quite faint and not as strong as the horizontal line. Does this indicate a positive pregnancy test result? My period is nearly a week late and I am usually very regular.

Thank you

It could be - could you get a blood test from your doctor? These are much more accurate

Beautyangel1 · 17/09/2021 06:18

@Florarenniemackintosh thank you, I will try that. I hope they give me an appointment, everything seems to be virtual at the moment. Any idea why the lines are so faint? Thanks

Did the lines show within the time frame? If so then it's most likely a positive test, the lines don't have to be the same strength of colour. Might be worth popping out a getting a pink dye test or even a digital if your a week late.

Beautyangel1 · 17/09/2021 06:59

@boymum88 the lines did show within the time frame - although the control
line appeared first then the faint positive line, but yes it was all within the time frame.

Possibly, but I’d say if your period is a week late you’d have a pretty dark line by now. Can you upload a pic?

Beautyangel1 · 17/09/2021 07:50

It won't allow me to post a picture atm. I will try again later.

Can anyone advise what the most reliable pregnancy test is? I am going to do another one.

Thanks x

FRER - first response early result.

Thefaceofboe · 17/09/2021 08:27

Definitely FRER but honestly I found the Poundland ones showed up at a similar time x

mumofmunchkin · 17/09/2021 08:40

The strength of the line isn't as important as it being there. If you've got a line, which showed up within the time frame, then it's most likely a positive test. It doesn't need to be as dark as the control line, and doesn't matter if the control line appeared first.

Your doctor is unlikely to do a blood test unless there are concerns - they don't confirm pregnancy that way, they just rely on the home urine tests.

Get a first response one (pink packaging) x

Hunkydory99 · 17/09/2021 08:54

I second a first response. I think your doctor is unlikely to do a blood test unless other concerns, not least because of a shortage of appointments and blood vials. Good luck!

@Hunkydory99 is this a positive or negative result? I did one of these tests and the second line came up quite faint xx

I have the same issue at the moment -super faint lines, something similar to @Hunkydory99 on frer

Hunkydory99 · 17/09/2021 21:23

They’re positive. Well I’m 35 weeks now and had several scans so can defo confirm it!!

Gensola · 17/09/2021 21:33

😍 @Hunkydory99 wow that’s amazing! Thanks for the update and the hope 😀

Beautyangel1 · 17/09/2021 21:48

@Hunkydory99 awww that's amazing news 😘

@Hunkydory99 how many weeks were you when you did that pregnancy test? X

OP posts:

I did another FRER first thing this morning and it showed as negative. Can this be accurate as I've done three tests that have shown as positive. I did one last night that was positive. Does having sexual intercourse before a test interfere with the results? Xx
