TMI warning - Pregnancy nausea- is it OK to make yourself throw up ?

I'm just nauseous 24-7. It's a bit less in the evening and a lot worse during the day. It hits its peak after meals. Sometimes I just have to relieve myself and make myself throw up a little bit, as it just won't come out by itself. If I do that and then have some chewing gum, I feel a bit better for a while.

I had the same 27-7 nausea in my last pregnancy, until the day she was born. It was debilitating and I got signed off work with HG for quite a while. I only worked out at a later stage last time that making myself throw up a little and the chewing gum, made me feel more human.

Does anyone else do the same ? I definitely don't throw up everything I eat. I usually throw up maximum 2-3 times a day. During the day. So after breakfast and maybe after lunch. Sometimes nothing comes and I just leave it. Or this morning I had toast, which I didn't throw up. But then I had some chocolate, which just didn't sit right in my stomach, so that came back up.

Sorry totally TMI. Does anyone else have the same ? Again TMI, it comes up quite easily when I'm very nauseous.

Honestly, I made myself throw up a lot in the 1st trimester. I felt so so nauseous and couldn’t even get up until I made myself sick, and then I felt okay for an hour or so where I was able to eat and drink. Not sure if it was the right thing to do, but I felt so poorly I couldn’t help it.

My nausea went at around 14 weeks and now 37 weeks with heathy baby Smile how far along are you?

The 1st trimester really is awful! I hope you start to feel better soon.

@Thefaceofboe thanks for that insight ! I'm only coming up to 7 weeks, so very early days. But I had it in my previous pregnancy until she was born.

I've done this a few times, I'm 24+5, but I'm aware its not a healthy habit to get in too though, especially when already very overweight.

For me, I'm concentrating on not over eating and also making smarter choices and knowing what foods make me feel unwell.

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee I'm trying to work out what it is that doesn't make me sick, but I haven't yet !

Why does being overweight have anything to do with this ?

For me it does, as it heads down the eating disorder pathway and I'm already prone to binge and boredom eating.

I have no idea what you weigh so apologies, I didn't mean to infer it was for you too!

I've found its linked to Indigestion. So, acidic, higher fat foods, for me anyway!

Oh no don't worry ! I didn't think you meant me haha. I just wondered why you linked this with being overweight.

I understand what you mean now !
