I am a first time mum and am 16+5 weeks. I haven't felt any movements or flutters yet but heard you can start to feel them around about this time. Just wondering when everyone started to feel baby during their first pregnancy's?

I am in my first pregnancy (31 weeks now). I started to get some very, very light movements from around 16 weeks. ( They felt like a very subtle muscle spasm). They didn't start to be more recognisable as movements until after 18 weeks.

With my first I felt moments from around 18 weeks (posterior placenta) with my second I first felt a little kick at 19+5 but I had a anterior placenta which cousions alot, congratulations! Flowers

I never felt the little butterflies that people talk about. I'm pretty sure I was passed my 20 week scan when I started feeling little kicks with both pregnancies. I do remember the sonographer with my eldest asking me "Did you feel that" when she saw my eldest kick at the 20 weeks scan and I didn't but I soon felt them.

I’m currently 20 weeks (FTM) and started feeling a pulse/tapping sensation from around 18ish weeks and then I’m now feeling bigger movements and can feel them from the outside with my hand on my belly (my husband & mum have also felt them). Some days are a lot quieter than others (which I’m trying to remember is normal at this stage). It varies so much from woman to woman and such an exciting time!

20 weeks with an anterior placenta. Felt some tickling but not sure if it's her or gas. Definately nothing stronger yet. But had a scan on Monday and all is well

Around 17 weeks was when I felt the first movements

I have an anterior placenta. I started to feel the baby kicking around week 18, but only when I was lying down, really focusing and my hand was on my belly. Around week 20 I started to feel without doing that, and now week 23 I can see my belly moving too :)

First time around 19 weeks with anterior placenta, this time 16 weeks with posterior placenta.

I felt something but couldn't be sure I was feeling anything as I didn't know what to expect. Initially it felt like bubbles popping on the inside.

I definitely felt more more movements after 20 weeks though.

First pregnancy started feeling flutters at 18 weeks. This time (second pregnancy) started feeling flutters at 13 weeks (!)

TwoAndCooPlease · 16/09/2021 15:58

I'm 36 weeks. Never had these 'flutters' everyone talks about but from 16+6 I had tapping on my hip and bubbles/popping
They didn't get stronger until around 18+4
Now I'm woken up with the whooshing around and flip flopping.

I'm currently 30 weeks with my first & I felt some movements at 17 weeks but nothing solid until 18 weeks onwards. My partner could feel them from the outside at this time. I have a posterior placenta.
