What steriliser?

I plan on breast feeding anyway, however have bottles and formula just incase it's not possible for whatever reason. I want to buy a steriliser but don't want to spend a fortune on one when it may not be used that often. Do you recommend a microwave one?

Depends how big your microwave is tbh

Leave the steriliser for now, if you're breastfeeding and baby is full term and healthy you won't need it at all, if you need to buy one for formula you can pick one up quickly enough.

A mircowave one can warp plastic parts on bottles/pump etc. We used Milton- fill the bucket, pop the tablet in and chuck everything in to soak. Job done. I bf-ed but also pumped which we did for about 14 months and used the cold water steriliser throughout without any issues.

You can get bags that you can sterilise bottles in in the microwave. You could get some of them in just in case? They are handy for travel.

Ok thanks all! Il leave the steriliser for now. Maybe il pick up some Milton just incase I need it. The bottles I have are MAM which I know can be sterilised in the microwave anyway if needed, just don't fancy doing one at a time 😁

I mostly breast fed and just used a big Tupperware with the Milton fluid for sterilising.

I used a cold water steriliser, it was fab! Put a Milton tab in the container and it lasted 24 hours. Meant I could wash a bottle after each use and pop it into the water and it would be ready to use for the next feed.

Milton for us too! Easy to do especially when you've had no sleep. I now use Milton to sterilise the recorders at school!

Just a 5l Milton cold steriliser-so simple. We had a steam steriliser with the first and cold water for the next two,so much easier.

MAM bottles for the win! They are fantastic. I have only bottle fed and have only had 4 bottles, they're just so easy. You can sterilise more than one at once... 1 minute per bottle then an extra 2 mins so for 4 bottles it takes 6 minutes.
