Clearblue digital up and down ??

Has anyone had experience with clearblue digital going up and down? Had my first 2-3 weeks on Sunday 12th 4 weeks 1 day. Then had a bad feeling this morning done another and it was 1-2 weeks then second urine of the day went back up to 2-3 weeks. I've had 4 miscarriages previously which happen the same time every time and I've never reached 2/3 on clearblue. I've read a few people say they can be unreliable but i think my hcg is dropping which is giving the result

This happened to me and it was a chemical pregnancy OP. Have you had any bleeding? I know that they say don't test after you get 3+ as this can cause the other tests you do to say false information due to your hcg levels.

I'm not sure if the early pregnancy unit can do anything at this point, however, it's worth giving them a call.

Sending you a big hug and hope all will be ok x

charlotte0808 · 15/09/2021 11:08

Hey @babyboybluex yeah I've had 4 chemicals so far I'm pretty sure this will be the fifth. Even if it was on boderline if 1-2 and 2/3 today still doesn't add up right as should of doubles since Sunday. Is a shame because I was so hopeful this time. I actually give up with epu I get the same response every time x

@charlotte0808 these are really unreliable. With my firstborn I didn’t get a 3+ until I was over 7 weeks pregnant! If you’re really worried I would maybe contact local epu or gp and ask for quantative blood tests if they will do them. If you can afford it you can actually buy two tests a few days apart online and they will send a finger prick test in the post. Sending you positive thoughts!

I've done tests again and they seem to have progressed since yesterday so I'm not sure

I think the fact your second test went back up is potentially reassuring. Crossing everything for you.

Jonesy88 · 15/09/2021 20:00

I can’t speak for hcg levels dropping etc but I know from my own experience I went from 3+ to 2-3 a week later. I cried myself to sleep thinking it was the end and booked a private scan to stop the torment basically. All was well. Lesson learned when people say they are unreliable!

I second this! I went from 2-3, to 3+ 5 days later and then stupidly did another one a week later and it was 2-3 and I was freaking out. Had a scan that week and baby was all fine and showed a heartbeat. Also read some people don't even progress to 3+, so OP i wouldn't read to much into it. They cause more harm than good x
charlotte0808 · 15/09/2021 20:29

Thanks everyone for your replies they are reassuring me. Because I'm so full of nerves and anxiety from the previous losses I haven't much hope that it'll ever work out. I'm at the stage if "what will be will be" I haven't had any bleeding only pain in my right ovary and mild cramping like a pulling feeling. Breasts are still sore nipples more so. I spoke to gp ans she told me to wait till next week after I pass the 5 week stage which will be Saturday as that when I always loose. So waiting game basically again 🙄 x

Hi @charlotte0808, this exact same thing happened to me today. I went from being 3+ to 2-3. This maybe because I didn't use FMU but I'm very anxious about this. Any updates? X

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 01:00

Hi @Kay94 sorry for late reply just seen your message. When I came back from shopping I done another one and it went back to 2-3 then 3+ following week. I had my first scan today at 6+2 after I had red whilst wiping then brown then pink and been continuous for a week now. All is fine saw a heartbeat too but measuring a few days behind but she said that is not a concern and discharged me from epu. How's it going with you? X

Hi @charlotte0808, thanks for your reply. Glad your scan went well! I did another test with fmu this morning and it was back to 3+, so it must have gone down because I was using diluted wee. It's so easy to become paranoid at this stage of pregnancy and I feel like I'm second guessing every twinge or cramp. I had a tinyyy bit of mild spotting which was pink yesterday and the EPU said it was very normal and not to worry, but I can't help panicking!! Keep me updated and hope all goes well xx

Cafeaulait27 · 28/09/2021 10:55

As others have said, these tests can be unreliable! I know it’s so easier said than done (I’ve had 2 mcs) you just have to sit tight and try not to worry.

Hope you don’t mind me asking but have you had any investigations for your chemical pregnancies, or on any medication?

After my 2 mcs I started taking aspirin and progesterone and it worked a treat, I’m now 37 weeks x

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 11:08

@Kay94 yeah I'm still having dark brown red pink all bloody colours lol driving me mad but couldn't find a cause or saying it's fine but makes you panic so much doesn't it. Will keep you updated 🤞 for you too xx @Cafeaulait27 I tried progesteroneand aspirin the third time which didn't work this time the only difference is they found I have vitamin d deficiency which I'm on medication for and this has been the furthest I have got to. But with this spotting it's making me second guess everything and stamp in my head all will not be ok. Glad everything is well with you xx

I’m so sorry to hear that, did you take 150mg aspirin? I took 75mg with second pregnancy and still miscarried, but took 150mg with this one and seems to have worked. I hope it works out for you this time xxx

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 11:27

I took 75mg was abit scared to take any more lol I am hoping this works out too. Feel fed up of waiting for everyday to pass to see if something else goes wrong 🙈 x

OP posts:
Cafeaulait27 · 28/09/2021 12:17

Well if it helps you, 150mg is the recommended amount by the NHS in pregnancy now and it’s actually 600mg every 4 hours for pain relief so 150mg a day is actually a really low dose ☺️ Totally up to you though but it seems to have worked for me!

Fingers crossed for you x

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 13:01

Really. I didn't know that.. seems hell of a lot doesn't it but obviously it's right. I did start aspirin after ovulation this time but I stopped it then because I thought I wasn't pregnant. Wouldn't make a difference if I started it back up now would it xx

OP posts:
Cafeaulait27 · 28/09/2021 20:34

Totally fine to start taking it again now! It’ll help the blood flow to the baby so wouldn’t do any harm and may help ☺️ Xx

Cafeaulait27 · 28/09/2021 20:36

I looked on my packet of aspirin which is in 300mg tablets (I halve them each day to get 150 mg) and the dose to use as a normal painkiller is 2 tablets every 4 hours which is 600mg potentially 6 times a day! So don’t worry that it’s too high ☺️ Xx

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 20:45

I'll defo get some tomorrow as you said won't do no harm. Going to phone midwife tomorrow book for another scan too. Still spotting today only when I wipe light pink or brown xx

OP posts:
Cafeaulait27 · 28/09/2021 22:40

Really hope it’ll all work out for you this time @charlotte0808 xx

Itsbeen84yearss · 28/09/2021 22:44

I would def take the aspirin. I miscarried 5 times without taking it. I took it with both my successful pregnancies. It won’t do any harm. They give it to pregnant women for other reasons anyway

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 22:47

I did try it before with progesterone but I miscarried with that. This is the furthest I've got because I had vitamin d deficiency so there's so many reasons it's all so confusing x

Just incase anyone ever wants to know so I will update. Everything is going well so far have had 2 scan I'm 7+4 today strong heartbeat and growing well hopefully will continue 🙏❤️
