22 weeks pregnant and only had one midwife appointment?

Im 22 weeks pregnant. Had my first midwife appointment at 11 weeks. Had my dating scan at 12 weeks and had my 20 week scan at 20 weeks. Ive had no other appointments and have none booked in/arranged. This is my third pregnancy if that makes a difference? I remember having more than one appointment by this stage with both my previous pregnancies.

I'm pregnant with my 2nd, and have a Community midwife appt. at 16 weeks. But I did have to arrange this myself as they are a different team than the booking in midwives. Might be worth contacting your booking in midwives for clarification?

I had DS2 last year and didn't get a second midwife appointment until 28 weeks. Had the 12 & 20 week scan at the hospital plus the initial booking in with the midwife and that was all. Some areas do a 16 week check but mine didn't due to covid apparently 🤷‍♀️. It doesn't hurt to check though. If you're worried about anything they may see you.

My 16 week "appointment" was a missed call from the midwife and a message left saying ring us if any problems

No actual appointment until 24 weeks, then 28, 31, 34, 36.

I'd definitely ring them to make sure your 24 week is booked. Do you have the badger app? My appointments just appear in there.

@OverTheWater yes. Ive got the badger app and keep checking to see if any new appointments have been put on but not yet. Will message my midwife to give her a gentle reminder im almost 24 weeks incase she's forgotten about me Wink thank you all for responding Smile

I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my first. My appointments have been:

7+5 weeks - early scan at EPU due to previous MMC
8+6 weeks - booking appointment with midwife
12 week scan
16 weeks - appointment with midwife
20 week scan
22 week scan (private gender scan)
24 weeks - appointment with midwife
28 weeks - appointment with midwife (also had student midwife)
30 weeks - appointment with midwife (extra appointment as I was a bit anxious about things)
32 weeks - appointment with midwife (this is next week actually)

I think the next few are at 34, 36, 38 and 40 weeks.

My midwife always arranges appointments with me at the end of each check, then it's added to the Badger Notes app. Regardless of what pregnancy you're on, you should know when you're going to be seen IMO.

You don’t have a 16 week check in this area for second and subsequent pregnancies so your next one due would be 24 weeks.

rosesandsalvia · 15/09/2021 10:50

I would have expected you to have a 16week appointment, but this could have been on the phone. Next appointment after that has been 28weeks, then 31, 34, 38, 41.

Dipsydoodlenoodle · 15/09/2021 11:05

I also had one at 16 weeks but I was specifically told to call up and arrange that myself once I'd had the 12 week dating scan. Might be worth calling them up and asking :)

I am pregnant with my 2nd, had the 16 weeks appointment in person with the midwife last week. She has also booked me in for a 20 weeks appointment to see her for the day after the 20 wk scan. Though I think in other areas the 20wk scan and midwife appointment are still combined and held at the hospital.

Samanabanana · 15/09/2021 11:26

Had my first face to face midwife apt (other than scans and booking apt!) at 28 weeks. They've been every 3 weeks since then though. Have you called the MW team?

8dpwoah · 15/09/2021 11:35

I had booking at 8, normal 12 week scan stuff, 16 week (actually F2F!) And then followed the schedule on the NHS website with a few extra scans and things chucked in. Second baby.

I'd definitely ring them and chase them as you should have had something at 16 weeks, I think something has gone amiss to not have that AND not have anything new booked in, I don't know about you but I get the next appt booked at the end of the preceeding one.

The admin in my trust has been pretty poor this time (although luckily the care on the day has been good still) and on top of that the Badger app is diabolical, in my opinion, so I wouldn't rely on that.

I'm pregnant with my third as well. I had booking in at 9 weeks then heard nothing until 17 weeks when a different midwife called to say I had been given to her as a patient and organised an appointment. Then at 20 weeks another midwife called to say that home births in my area are now cancelled so I've been moved to the community midwife unit and now have an appointment booked in for 28 weeks.

I had 12 week scan at 13 weeks at 20 week scan at 19 weeks.
