7 weeks bleeding but heartbeat seen - any positive experiences?

Hello. I was hoping for some reassurance. I am 7 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding for the past week or so. It started as a heavy bleed and it's not as bad now - but still very much there. We have had a scan and the heartbeat was there, baby measuring correctly as well. However I just can't help but think something is wrong. Why am I bleeding? Has anyone else experienced this and had a positive outcome? Did the bleeding stop?

A bleed, told to expect the worst, scan showed twins. All well from that point.

Had it with all my pregnancies. I actually had more bleeding with my healthy pregnancies than ones that ended in miscarriages. It’s stressful though.

I bled at 9 weeks with my first. One heavy bleed then light bleeding for about 48 hours. I was terrified but baby was fine in the end. They said it was quite common to bleed some and can be due to the placenta bedding in. Can you go for a private scan to reassure you in a week or so? They are only around £50

I had a light period at 8 weeks but scans confirmed baby was unaffected. Fingers crossed for you.

Yes it happened a couple of times with my youngest until I was around 20 ish weeks. No idea why and they wouldn't even scan me at the beginning which was hard as I'd had a miscarriage a couple of weeks before I got pregnant with him.
A heartbeat is a great sign!

subchorionic hematoma was the reason for mine at 7 weeks. She's asleep on my lap right now. Good luck

Yes I had an awful bleed at 7 weeks - was convinced I had miscarried. I suspect I was pregnant with twins but they never really confirmed that. My baby is now 8 and asleep in bed!

Thank you so much for your experiences, it is giving me some hope!! Those that bled, how long did it last for? Did it come back again later in the pregnancy?

I had a bleed at 8 weeks that lasted for 2-3 weeks. Had a healthy baby at 39 weeks x

Yes at around 9 weeks. It was due to a low lying placenta. Baby is now 4. Good luck

Eldest son (11 now). Had light bleeding starting at 6 weeks. Scan showed a heart beat. Light bleeding continued. Then had a clot at 8 weeks and was convinced it was all over. Another scan showed a little shape. Bleeding stopped completely at about 12 weeks. It made the first trimester incredibly stressful as I felt it could all go wrong at any time. But all worked out fine. No reason for bleeding found.

I had it on and off for the first 12 weeks with dd1. Dd2 I had quite a lot just in week 5 and then was fine. I do just think it can be a ‘bedding in’ thing.
