So I'm trying to find out if I'm being unreasonable, I'm stressed out of my head due to possible bad outcome for this much wanted pregnancy due to NT scoring off the scale we got referred to this specialist clinic. Our appointment for a CVS was at 2pm, they started the procedure (needle half way in), junior person who was being guided by a consultant and then someone knocked at the door and said something, then they said oh we need your bladder full go sit in a room for 20mins and drink some water (my bladder already left full but ok) I don't want to be prodded more that necessary. This was at 2.30pm absolutely fine, problem is we are still sat in the room and no ones come to find us and update us what's happening, we have spoken to reception and they have said sometimes things come up but is a 3hr wait normal ? Wasn't like this was mid way through a consultation- the needle was actually inside of my belly.

Surely just on a human level someone would have come and explained what's going on, no one seems to know or care ? I would say let's come back but we won't be able to do it for much long as they can only do it if your under 14 weeks and I'm 13weeks and 4 days and if we don't get it done now we will have to wait for anmio at 16 weeks and honestly the wait for this appointment has been hell on wheels already. Also we have travelled 2hrs to get here and it's already cost a arm and a leg.

Please tell me if this is normal ? Talk me down off ledge ? Because 3+ wait with 0 communication is shocking and still no one
has come in ?

I’m really sorry this is very shit and unacceptable I would explode ! I hope you were seen to by now ? Xx

Thats terrible, really hope someone came to apologise at some point. Obviously sometimes emergencies could occur but I hope at the very least they apologise and spoke to you about it. Hope you're ok. We were there the other day for 20 week scan and had to wait at least an hour for that, maybe they are having staffing issues.

Got seen at 6pm to be fair I don't think I was being very fair the staff (I'm going to ask mumsnet if they can take it down - don't know how - help ?)

I was incredibly anxious and they finally did the CVS and there wasn't any fiddling around second time, done within 30secs with the consultant. Things come up, I was just worried they wouldn't have time to do it and on a timescale sadly!

Excuse my emotional rant it's been a hell of a week !

Bless you! You sound very reasonable. You were there for a stressful and emotional procedure so you reacted the way anyone would. Sounds like you were understanding of the wait, but the communication was very much lacking which would have made all the difference! All the best for the results.
