I’ve read and heard mixed things but is it safe to be painting walls in my house when pregnant?

I think if you buy low VOC paint, and be careful of gloss paints. Have the windows open and either an air purifier or a fan going while painting

I had the same issue but didn't twig until AFTER I had painted (including using high VOC gloss!)

35 weeks now though and all fine :)

When I read up on it at the time, emulsion is absolutely fine but the high VOC (gloss etc.) are the ones to be wary of, even still if there is plenty of ventilation you'll be fine

The issue was with the old lead based paints but modern paints are pretty safe x

I'm 17 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and we've been painting our entire house. I researched paint first and the delux washable paint is absolutely fine for pregnant ladies Smile

Most emulsion / wall paints are ok but glosses and anything with a strong smell maybe not so

I tried to just say out of the way while our house was painted. Eg when downstairs was done I stayed upstairs and windows were open or I went out.
