Hi there,
I was wondering when and how you told your work colleagues as im feeling v anxious about it. Someone else is ttc and other people in the team are very inquisitive and I dont really want them to stress me asking me lots of questions.
Any tips would be most welcome!
Thanks

I had to tell my colleagues the day I found out at 4+4 weeks as I couldn't do a large part of my iob. Not what I would've preferred but safety first! I just said 'I can't do this as I'm with child'.

I didn't really. (school)
I think I told a few colleague-friends and the deputy head who sorted timetabling out when I had to have a blood test one day.
Kids asked me when I was about 7 months Grin

Is there any reason like PP that means you need to tell colleagues.. If not I wouldn't tell anyone till at least 12 week scan.
I like PP couldn't do lots of my job.... I therefore rescheduled my diary as couldn't do certain trips.. For other part I had to confess to 1 colleague who volunteered if that task needed to be done!

I waited until 25 weeks.

I said “I’m pregnant”.

Nobody was surprised or bothered particularly.

I waited until about 14 weeks to tell most of my colleagues, but my line manager had known from 4-5 weeks as we needed to get risk assessments etc sorted early.

By 14 weeks it was getting quite hard to hide, so in our team meeting I added an item under 'Staffing' on the agenda and introduced everyone to the new member of the team - "they aren't doing much yet but that's ok because we don't need to pay them". Everyone was really positive about it.

I told my boss at 11 weeks. I was feeling v unwell and had previously had a miscarriage which she knew about. Thought it was best to tell her as if things didn't work out she would know anyway. I asked her to keep it quiet and told other colleagues after 20 weeks

First pregnancy. We were going to do an infectious case in theatre, and they advised that anyone pregnant should leave. So I left.

Second pregnancy. By vomiting noisily in the changing room loo and coming out crying because I was exhausted.

Third pregnancy. Accidentally outed. A colleague was on her last shift before mat leave and we were having a bring and share. Someone had bought in some cured meat and pate. Naturally I wasn't partaking and was unfortunately questioned on it. I couldn't come up with a better answer than "because I can't". Then everyone in ear shot knew.
