Testing after miscarriage before period

Hi all. In August I found out I was pregnant. Then a week later (5w4days) I started bleeding and went to A&E and Epu and I had a miscarriage days after. I went to Epu after two weeks for my checks and they confirmed a complete miscarriage and checked my uterus and hcG levels. The hcG levels were back down to a zero. We started ttc conceive again a few days after that. That was a month ago and there is no sign of AF but I've had some pregnancy symptoms so did a clear blue digital test this morning and it says 'not pregnant'. I really thought I was but perhaps it's just hormones flying around still? My question is a) did everyone have pregnant symptoms even after their hcG levels had come back down to zero after miscarriage? and b) how soon did Af appear you miscarried? Thanks so much in advance.

I still haven't had my first period since the miscarriage and it has been five weeks. I have had nausea for most of yesterday. I did a pregnancy test this morning and it came back negative. Did anyone have nausea before their first period? Not sure what to think...

Hi @Quadrilingual I'm so sorry you're going through this, I hope you're doing ok. My period arrived a bit late after my miscarriage, I think it was just over 5 weeks and they were usually 27/28 days. The following cycle was slightly short which panicked me even more cos I thought there was something wrong. The cycle after that we conceived again. It does take time for things to settle down and go back to normal which is so frustrating when you want to start ttc again! That doesn't mean to say you're not pregnant though, I would test again in a few days if there's still no sign of your period

Thank you @flopsy88. Congratulations on your pregnancy! X

For both my miscarriages it was 5-6 weeks until my period returned. I had quite strong pregnancy symptoms for a couple of weeks but once I got a negative test, I didn't have any symptoms. As flopsy said, I think it's 50/50 whether your hormones are settling or whether you're pregnant, I'd give it a few days and test again. Fingers crossed x

Thank you @IsabelHerna.
Thank you for checking @Knock123. AF arrived finally. Feel so much better just knowing where I stand and starting afresh.

Yeah I totally understand that, it's like drawing a line under everything. Like you say, at least you know what's what now and when you're ready you can try again and I'm sure next time will have a more positive outcome x
