How to cope with bleeding in pregnancy

Hi

Back story - I have previously had 4 miscarriages and currently 9 wks weeks pregnant

I have had bleeding for 6 days now, red blood. I had a scan yesterday and baby looked fine, with a heartbeat. Great news of course :)
however they couldn’t find the source of the bleeding. I have continued to bleed since my scan

I’m finding this hard to accept, I have another 3 weeks til my next scan now and each time I go to the toilet and see blood it’s so scary. Even though it was ok yesterday, how do I know when it’s not ok?

I'm 12 weeks now and I've had similar since about 7 weeks, however we did find a haematoma at my early scan. I've really struggled with the not knowing as well but EPU told me that as long as its just blood, it's fine. Any clots or cramping that felt different than usual and I was to call them back. I seen them again at 10 weeks as I had awful backache and cramps in one side, but all was fine! I'm still bleeding on and off but it seems like it might finally be stopping. So, be on the lookout for clots and any cramping that worries you. Don't hesitate to call EPU even for advice, that's what they're there for. Fingers crossed for you that all continues to go well Flowers

Hi,
Sorry to hear you're going through that pregnancy is wonderfully magical and scary all at the same time!
My personal experience I was 6 weeks when I started with light bleeding when I would wipe and gradually got heavier. I called my doctor who called the EPU, to which they said they couldn't see me due to covid and to just take a pregnancy test in 2 weeks! (I have to admit i was so upset by their response as a FTM, first time pregnancy I had no clue what was going on).
Me and my partner then booked a private scan at 8 weeks as the wait was a killing me - throughout which the bleeding was on and off.
The scan showed everything to be really strong and healthy -YAY.
At 10 weeks the bleeding got really bad again so called my doctor and this time got an appointment with EPU the next day. Again had a scan everything super healthy and normal - I also had a vaginal examination, which showed I had cervical erosion, so this is what they put it down to.
I didn't stop bleeding until I was around 16 weeks, it was a long 4 months! Currently 37 & 5 xx
Bleeding can sometimes be part of the journey I guess.

I think you just have to try as hard as it is to be positive, keep calling the professionals if you are worried it's what they are there for x please keep us updated, I wish you all the luck in the world
Lots of hugs xx

@BelieveInRainbows @steph246
thank you both for taking time out of your mornings to send me such reassuring messages ❤️ I know there is no ‘answer’ to my question as such, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one out there with bleeding in pregnancy and feeling all the worries it comes with xx
