I am 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I am 40 years old and just got my blood results back. It says I am higher risk for the baby to have Down Syndrome. 1 In 73 chance. The neck measurement is normal at 2.4. I have a NIPT blood test tomorrow but the results take a week. Has anyone else had similar results and all been okay?

Hi @Louise32x sorry you’re going through this too. I got the call on Monday to say the same and am currently waiting for my NIPT results due back next week.
I’ve been searching this forum and there are lots of positive stories of women in similar situations who have gone onto have healthy pregnancies. From my (somewhat obsessive!) research this week, women above 35 and over automatically are given a higher risk despite the NT and bloods so I wouldn’t panic too much. Your odds are very much in your favour too. Thinking of you and hope you get the result you want xox

A family member was given a 1 in 12 chance. She was 41 at the time so higher risk. Baby was perfectly healthy and gorgeous.xx

From what I remember (quite some years ago!) the nuchal measurement is the most important

Thank you for replying. I seem to have very high HCG levels as well. I think it says 5 mom. This has made me feel worse tonight and my anxiety and hope has changed from learning this. Has anyone had a reading like that and the baby has been okay?
