Only 25 weeks in so much pain. Having frequent days off work. Just feel like I'm failing.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have been struggling on and off with either pain or emotional wellbeing. My boss has been great and I have had frequent days off. Woke my partner up at 3:30am and was told to go to the hospital by the triage midwife due to the pain I was getting in my lower back and stomach. All my obs and bloods we're fine. Just feel like I'm being ridiculous and should be dealing with this better. Feel like I'm failing already 😔

You're not failing, I felt exactly the same around that time and was running around a kitchen 40 hours a week destroying myself physically and mentally 🤦‍♀️

When are you able to start your maternity leave? I brought mine forwards to 30 weeks and honestly don't regret it one bit, I've been so much better without the stress of work. Make sure you take as much time as possible to do things that relax you and make you happy x

You are not failing for having a difficult pregnancy. Being pregnant myself, and having watched several friends go through it, it occurs to me that it's simply the luck of the draw how painful, emotional, complicated or relatively easy a pregnancy gets. Don't blame yourself for dealing badly, just take the time and rest you need to take of yourself and your baby.

It's completely luck of the draw. My first pregnancy I was fine apart from nausea early on and the tiredness. This time round I was practically bedridden with HG for almost 20 weeks and now that's passed I'm crippled with PGP. I can barely walk and having weekly physio just to try and keep functioning! You're doing your best, don't be hard on yourself
