Just had a private 4D scan shes a trained sonographer and ex midwife said I had too much amniotic fluid and to get in touch with my midwife, she possible causes of GDb and serious infections which has made me panic. My midwife only works Fridays so have to wait until then but I've googled it and am now shitting myself. Experiences please?

I found out on Tuesday at a hospital scan that I have this (I’m 32 weeks). Mine is mild, did she tell you if yours was mild, moderate or severe as that can make a difference to risks? I’m seeing a consultant today to discuss it so I’ll let you know what she says. I’m also now doing a glucose tolerance test for diabetes next Wednesday. How many weeks are you?

I had that, didn't have GDB and all was fine, just LOADS of liquid when my waters broke.

What is your deepest pool? I had severe polyhydramnios and was put on house rest (not quite bed rest!) and had to be scanned twice a week.

How many weeks are you? Poly can be caused by lots of things or it can be nothing. I had detailed anatomy scans to look for causes, including checking for a stomach bubble to check baby was swallowing, and then cardiac scans. It can be caused by rare genetic conditions. My complicated medical history + the severe poly led to me being told to prepare for the worst. My son is now 17 months and totally fine. Please don’t panic!

I had poly too, mines genetic. Have you asked your mum if she had too much water. I had lots of scans with dd because of it and they are sure I’ve got it again but only 25 weeks at the moment but already huge.
Don’t panic, there’s lots of causes that aren’t serious and I would suggest you stop goggling ( I know easier said than done)you can contact the hospital midwives if you don’t want to wait until tomorrow.

Thankyou all im 28+5, I've got an appointment on Monday at the hospital not sure what for as wasn't told. She didn't mention the amount just told me to get in touch with my midwife. Its my second baby got one DD, had 3 previous losses and DD was born with sepsis at 40+4 8.6 by emcs so am hoping for a more straight forward pregnancy this time. Least I dont have too long to wait..
