5 weeks pregnant and brown discharge

I’m currently 5 weeks + 2 days pregnant and I’ve had some light cramping and brown discharge I would say wasn’t like blood, is this normal or should I be worried? This is my 2nd pregnancy and it never happened with my first

Brown blood is better than bright red blood as it's classed as old blood. I had bleeding in second pregnancy and it wasn't just brown blood, I now have a 7 year old. Try and see someone if you need to, I had a scan for it

Hi, I guess I’m due the same day as you! I’m also experiencing slight brown discharge started yesterday evening no advice as such just thought I’d say I’m in the same boat as you! I don’t really know whether to call the community midwives or wait until Friday for my first midwives appointment ? Thinking I’m just going to see what happens with the discharge I suppose it could possibly be old implantation blood I’m not sure but I think either way the outcome will probably be the same although the not knowing is hard 🙁

@Bivvynme yeh I’m 6 weeks today if I go on the first day of my last period congratulations! Every single little pain is worrying but hoping for the best

It does happen though I remember it happened with my eldest at 9 weeks and his 16th birthday is the 08/05/2022 😆 so keep positive xx

Hi just wondering was everything ok? I'm 5+2 today and just noticed very light brown discharge when I wipe. Had 4 losses already so worried sick 🙈 x

@charlotte0808 hi yes everything was absolutely fine had a bleed the day after not for long but midwife said it can happen when the placenta forms! Never had this with my first I’m now 7 weeks 1 day and alls good, hope everything is alright for you x

Oh good I'm glad. I have a scan next Monday such a long wait! I am hoping all will be fine x

Saw midwife Friday and was assured nothing to worry about insisted on a ultrasound which I had on Monday confirmed miscarriage 😔

@Bivvynme I’m so sorry to hear this, was it just brown discharge you had or any blood? I’m still experiencing brown discharge but midwife said nothing to worry about im still so on edge though x

It started as brown discharge as did my last miscarriage for weeks with nothing but ! I’d insist on an ultrasound it’s not fair that they reassure people it’s normal when it very well might be the case! You deserve some proper reassurance really!
