Waiting a rescan

Hi everyone,
Just need bit of reassurance if anyone has been in the same boat or had experience with this.
Had an early scan the other day at 6 weeks, there was a gestational sac and yolk sac but no embryo she said I could not be as far along as I think I am or the pregnancy has not progressed. I am booked in for a rescan in 2 weeks and the worry is driving me crazy 😩

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I haven't got personal experience of this but I've read many threads written by people with the same experience as you and lots have positive outcomes.
I am wishing all the best for you.

Aww thank you. I have everything crossed for a positive outcome xx

Hey,

I went for a scan at what I thought was dead on 6 weeks and they could see the yolk and sac but no embryo, didn’t say a word just said everything looks good and I was around 5.5 weeks. Didn’t even offer me a re-scan. I went to a private scan 6 days later and was dated 6+1 and could see heartbeat and embryo. Just wanted to share my positive outcome as it seems a similar situation to yours x

@Doogals I am in the same position, except I have another scan on Friday at 6+4 (IVF pregnancy and I have ohss). I'm hoping to see the fetal pole then. I have my official viability scan next Tuesday at 7+1 and I know I should see a heartbeat by then... I'm sorry you have to wait so long to find out how things are going. X

Aww thank you. Yeah I had private scan at bang on 6 weeks by my LMP they said there was a yolk and sac but no embryo told me I had to wait for 2 weeks and then I can get a rescan. She didn't really explain any of it to be fair which was a shame and has just added to the worry. But I'm glad you had a positive outcome so it gives us hope 😊

It is torture isn't it having to wait and the unknown. Wishing you lots of luck aswell 🤞

Sorry that it added to your worry! It all seems to be over so quickly and you wish you had asked more. I am feeling super positive for you though 🥰

Keep busy! Tomorrow is my 2nd scan after waiting 2 weeks since my last scan (which measured baby 2 weeks behind + heart rate was too low). The past 2 weeks have taken FOREVER to get here but my country was in a strict covid lockdown so we were stuck home all day and had no work to do as I can't work my job from home. Last 2 days have gone faster since I started binge watching a TV show but up until then it has been the slowest days ever. Goodluck and keep busy!

Oh gosh I hope everything goes ok at your scan, waiting for a scan is tough but going through it in lockdown sounds even worse. Im trying to think of things to keep me occupied thank you 🙂

@Doogals I had an early scan at 6 weeks, they could see the sac and yolk and said the sac was measuring just over 6 weeks but couldn't yet see a baby.

I went back for a 2nd early scan last Friday at 7 weeks 2 days and there was a tiny blob with a flickering heartbeat 🥰

Hope this helps ❤️

Doogals · 08/09/2021 16:58

Aww that's amazing news. Definitely making me feel more positive, thank you 😊 Seems to be a common thing but it's just so nerve wracking waiting for that second scan ❤

I've had it a few times - I've had 6 pregnancies in total which have resulted in two dc.

For each of my x4 miscarriages the sac was visibly empty. No yolk sac.

The two times I was told that there was no fetal pole and I was going to miscarry resulted in actual, live babies.

The dating is extremely inaccurate and it's so early that there's still hope. I have very, very regular periods too, but I must ovulate at weird times because my dates are always out and the measurements never quite tallied with age

Doogals · 09/09/2021 20:51

Aww thank you for replying. Yeah i think it has got to be something to do with my ovulation 🤞🤞
