Hi just wondering if anyone has been on citalopram during pregnancy? I’m on 40mg and tried to come off them with no avail. Would love to hear from people in the same position/people who’ve been there.

There was a thread recently about this - as I posted on there, I'm on a low dose of Citalopram (10 mg), am 12 weeks pregnant and have always been told to stay on it by all the medical professionals I've spoken to. They seem to feel the risk of pre and post-natal depression (due to hormonal changes) is much more likely and risky than the very tiny chance of any harm to the baby.

Some people are able to reduce their dose (I did pre-pregnancy, from 20mg to 10 mg very slowly) but I'd be surprised if a Doctor took you off totally since pregnancy/childbirth is such an emotionally vulnerable time.
