Afternoon lovely MNetters,

I'm only four months pregnant but my back and vajay are doing my head in massively already. Has anybody had these issues so early, and what can you do about them?

Basically, if I do anything (hoovering, go for a walk, do some shopping), I pay for it all night with lower back ache and cystitis-like burning pains. I've been tested for an UTI so they don't think it's that.

I'm so sick of it. Will it get better? Should I push through it and carry on being active?

Hi

I feel your pain!!

I started hurting at about 12 weeks, my body and relaxin do not agree!!

I am now 29 weeks and am on crutches when leaving the house

Pelvic partnership website has lots of great tips, also ask for a physio referral ASAP

Sounds like pelvic girdle pain. I’d get yourself to a osteopath or physio who is specially trained in maternal / women’s health. I was told to stop hoovering as all the twisting is no good for the pelvic area.

Oh fuck, that sounds rough @ElmtreeMama I can see it going the same way with me. I hope it goes back to normal after the birth. Am already hating my restricted mobility Angry

Thanks both, I'll speak to the midwife and see if she can refer me. Do you take any pain medication? I've been resisting because I'm not sure whether you should take anything or not.

I’m not taking pain relief. You are allowed paracetamol. I didn’t wait for a referral, figured the baby would be here by the time I was seen. Osteopath was £45. I’ve got some gentle exercises to do.
