Hi all,

I've just had my 12 weeks scan yesterday and I'm a little concerned about the shape of the head on both scan photos. It looks abnormal and is 'wobbly'. Yeah be attached the scan so you can see but I don't know if I'm just being paranoid. The nurses and midwifes didn't say anything about it but I've never seen a scan like it before. Any ideas what's going on?

If there was anything to worry about, the sonographer would have flagged it up.

My 12 week scan was similar - very strange shaped head. I think it's just the way the still images come out.

If there was an issue the sonographer would have mentioned it. Also you need to remember it’s a scan, not a photo. Some of mine have been odd shaped too. Our 4D one looked like baby had a cleft lip to me but we were reassured it’s just the way it is sometimes Smile

That’s normal. I was worried too about her head being abnormal and small but she’s all fine. In fact what you see looks like your baby’s fonatelle.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance, with this being my first child, it's hard not to think the worst and worry about the little things 😂

My scan photos of my sons head look a bit funny too, his head looks like a horseshoe Grin but the actual scan itself was absolutely fine, the sonographer had zero concerns and spent ages measuring each part of him at 20 weeks. The images are 2D so even slight movement can make them look really odd!

Hi,

Thought I would jump on. Your babies head look absolutely perfect. You have nothing to worry about unless sonographer or midwife or consultants mention it. I've had 2 babies with anencephaly so it's the first thing I look for on my babies scans and your babies head looks beautiful 😊 and that's a amazing clear scan also so if there was issues they definitely would have noticed x

Hello everyone! Congratulations on the babies! I’m due May 26th , I went to get an ultrasound though and I saw the forehead a bit budged out , does anyone know what it could be? Is it normal? Did yours look like this. ? By the way- yes I called my doctor and we’re doing imaging next Friday, but till then I’m going to be anxious 😭
TIA!
