but i was balancing head phones on bump for a while and playing some folksy tunes. DH wants me to start pumping thru some hip hop on the grounds he wants her to have a good sense of rhythm!

in this weeks sunday times, there was a review of a book about music and babies. or something. anyway, it had a pic with three two day old babies all with great big headphones on. i almost exploded with broodiness

Apparently, when mum was pg with me in 1977 she was obsessed with John Travolta and Saturday Night Fever and went to the cinema to see it loads of times, and listened to the soundtrack on her record player constantly.

i don't know whether I listened to it in utero, but I have had a long and abiding adoration of cheesy 70s disco music since childhood. And I can't attribute it to just copying my mum's taste as she didn't raise me, and I grew up in a household where pop music wasn't played.
