Growth scan consultant appointment

Evening everyone, I’ve so far had two growth scans, one at 32 weeks and another at 34+6. First was due to reduced movement but they realised baby was measuring small so was back on Thursday (34+6) for a second. They have said I need to have another one in two weeks and a consultant appointment. I just wondered what was said in your consultant appointments? I’m not sure what to expect. I’ll be almost 37 weeks at the point. Thanks guys 😘

I'm consultant led with growth scans for increased bmi. My consultant appointments are just a quick look over my growth graph to make sure she's following a pattern of growth, check blood pressure, chat about how I feel and movements and that's about it really.
I'm seeing him on Tuesday I'll be 36+5 and will ask to discuss induction, which might also be something they'll discuss with you depending on whether your baby has grown at a suitable rate between scans

I've had two with this one as had SGA baby last time (not diagnosed til term) so I'm happy to share how mine go. I've no other risk factors other than being a shade older.
We have the growth scan first, usual measurements and also because this one is known to be small they do a doppler each time to check the blood flow. Then we trot off to discuss with consultant and also have the normal urine and BP etc with the midwife who is in with him.

At the first consultant appointment we talked about what centile she is on and made an appointment to review at next appointment depending on if she had gone up, down or stayed the same relative to her line (we are on 10th so not great but not in the immediately worrying zone). If she'd dropped we'd have been going in at 37 weeks for induction but as it stands she is tracking her line so I've got another scan at 37 weeks with a view to inducing at 39 weeks (if I don't go by myself after 37 weeks, which is being encouraged!)

I've had an induction before so we chatted over what happened last time but I suspect if I hadn't we'd have had a longer conversation about birth choices etc. and implications.

I'd say this aspect of my care has been the best part of this pregnancy, it's calm, considered and informed. Consultant is very personable and realistic though which I think helps. I found it helped to have any burning questions ready to ask as it's easy to get talking about something else and then your appointment slot is coming to an end and they're asking if you have any questions!
