Nipple piercings

This is gonna sound so random but my nipple piercings are starting to smell a bit. I'm just over 11 weeks pregnant.

I think they were like this when I was pregnant the first time round. Sometimes they go crusty.

I've had them done for around 2 and a half years. Has anyone else had this?

How does breastfeeding work out for you?

CandyLeBonBon · 05/09/2021 17:49

If you clean them twice a day and they still stink then they're probably infected.

HTH.

Mine never smelt and I didn't need to clean twice a day! I would ask your GP/midwife as it could be an infection.

Sounds like they are infected to me. Mine never smelt at all, and I didn't need to salt water them at all - I did initially until they were healed obviously, but then after that cleaned them in the shower every day like I do all my piercings.

I am currently pregnant with my first though (19wks) and as I would like to try and breastfeed, I took them out as soon as I found out I was pregnant (about 4wks) and they're healing nicely. Maybe take them out if you would prefer to breastfeed?

But yes, definitely check with GP/midwife/piercer if you believe they are infected.

Mine were smelly with a yellow colostrum looking discharge but so painful so i had them taken out, thank goodness because they were infected. I would brave seeing your gp if you can
