Prams for small car

I’m pregnant with my first child and have been trying to get prepped ready with things to buy. I’ve been looking at prams, but I live in a semi rural area and my car boot is really small. It’s a Citroen c1 196 litres. Any ideas on prams that would fit in the boot of my car?

I live in London in a flat and a lot of people have recommended the Yoyo city here. It folds up really small into a bag that's cabin bag size. I've had a play with friends and neighbours, and think I'll get the same. It's a buggy that lasts til age three and you buy a newborn expansion kit for the first 4-6 months. I don't know how brilliant it is on rough terrain as the wheels are smallish, but it copes okay on grass in the parks etc

Another vote for the yoyo

Same car here and I'm in the same predicament! Just to be extra awkward DH and I are both tall (I'm 6'2", he's 6'4") so looking for one that'll fit in the car and have a high enough handle. Everyone says get a bigger car but it's perfectly fine

We have the bugaboo bee 5 which folds up very small and fits in our i10 boot. Expensive to buy new but you can usually pick them up second hand for a far more reasonable price. The yoyo is also great, but once the baby moves into the seat at 6 months they have to be 'world facing' if that is an issue for you.

I'm in the same situation! This website is handy though, you put your reg in and it will tell you prays that will fit and how they fit. I'm still going to go to shop and try it before I commit though.

@Fo100 @Countingchicks @lockdownbabyx
Cybex Beezy. Good price, lie flat from birth, can be used with car seat as a travel system. We have a 3 door Mini Cooper so I understand small!

Another vote for a yo-yo. I've witnessed the pain some parents go through carrying, folding and trying to find space in their car boots and houses to get their beastly prams through. My yo-yo literally glides through tiny spaces and keeps less space and can go on plane cabins although covid hasn't allowed us to travel as much but still it's very light and has been part of our lives since DS was born and we still use it now as he is 2.5 yo.

@Fo100 I’m also rural! I go for fairly long walks with it despite it not being “off road”

LakeShoreD · 05/09/2021 14:44

I’d get the YoYo plus a sling if you do a lot of walks on rough terrain.

We have the Joolz geo which somehow fit in our incredibly small boot. We did have to take the bassinet of LG and place it in separately but when we moved on to the seat it all folded down in one go. Also it’s good off road and nice and high if you’re on the taller side.

Hello! Fellow C1 driver here! I have the Cosatto Giggle 2! I can fit the wheels in the boot of the car pretty snuggly and the pushchair attachment in the back seats along with the car seat as well! 😊

Somuchgoo · 06/09/2021 00:18

The doona.
Coupled with a sling (which you can keep in the bag

It means you'll still have your boot totally free

Thanks for everyone’s commented. Really helpful 😊

I had a citroen c1 but it was written off last month 😭 I got a mamas & Papas armadillo flip xt second hand that fit in nicely with the parcel shelf removed.
